NEWCASTLE GAME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I wonder if their "French players who are killing the English game" will be playing

Will be a tricky game. They're not a fashionable team like a Southampton so they don't get the praise that their form deserves considering they've taken 22 points from 9 games since being ridiculed for losing at Sunderland, including wins at Spurs and United plus dicking Chelsea.

They're actually quite useful going forward which is more than can be said for almost all other teams outside top 7, ben Arfa and Remy are both real handfuls if they're on their game.

Early goal to set them back would be lovely.

We'll win this one with a bit of grit from Flamini.

this game will illustrate how important it is to have a decent striker,we have the misfiring Giroud they have Remy, could well be the difference, lets hope not.a win here would be an amazing result considering newcastles form,id take a point right now,2-2

I feel unusually confident about this one. They're a mid-table team at best and we should boss them in midfield. I just hope we've learnt that shooting occasionally can increase the chances of you scoring.

Scruffy 1-0 will do. Then set up nicely for Cardiff on New Years day - taking my father in law who has never been to football for his first game (and his family are all West Ham...@@@@@!)

Kind of agree... Two debatable sendings off & a clear handball in the build up to their equaliser. Don't think we've had much luck with referees in recent games but your luck disappeared completely on boxing day!

Yeah did think the way he pulled up and went to ground that it was more than a 2 week lay off, and now our medical team have got hold of him he may well develop small pox, TB, malaria, Spanish flu and not to mention osteoporosis which he may well catch off of diaby

Did find the bit at the bottom of that article when poldolski said he had never had a muscle strain before, well he's going to be a specialist in them after a couple more seasons at the club
