I don't think anyone criticises his talent and I for one certainly do not want him to ever become that useless hunchback Citeh fucker referred to as 'an insurance policy' whenever Hodgson rocks up his sterile boring team selection. However, without admittedly having watched him lots for Madrid, the guy I remember ripping Ingerlund to shreds was a guy who was more prominently involved than any of the other players on the field and I haven't seen much of that lately. The weight of his passing and assist rate can not be questioned though....he oozes quality....just think we won't see his absolute best until next season when he'll have a full year under his belt hereLDB wrote:Just watched the game back and can confirm that people who criticise Ozil know f**k all about football. Until he went off we didn't put together a decent move that didn't either involve a sublime pass or him making one or two west ham players look like right c**ts.
Those who criticise him for not being James Milner should f**k off and follow the SPL. Watch him when we've got the ball, that's when he is on the move and that's not to say he doesn't do his fair share of tracking back.

West Ham need to get fucking over themselves..they didn't deserve much from the game on Boxing day..they got a lucky break for their goal and granted should have scored on a couple of occasions when ahead but for the most part they were on the back foot...The comments from Big Sam and Nolan...you are not playing for "small club up North " anymore..

"Big" Sam Allardyce is one of the most charmless wankers ever to (dis)grace the dugout, in addition to being as thick as mince.Bradywasking wrote:West Ham need to get fucking over themselves..they didn't deserve much from the game on Boxing day..they got a lucky break for their goal and granted should have scored on a couple of occasions when ahead but for the most part they were on the back foot...The comments from Big Sam and Nolan...you are not playing for "small club up North " anymore..
Nolan thinks he's the Rivaldo of the Wirral on account of him standing still on the edge of the 18 yard line for 90 fucking minutes and scoring the occasional goal.
Pay them no mind, both are berks.
Re: WHAM - this (Last) Christmas
Noticed that too and he does it far too often. Thankfully Kos is back fit and hopefully Tommie goes back to warming the bench tomorrow. He is a decent enough 3rd choice but there is no way I'd pick him over either of the other 2.augie wrote:GranadaJoe wrote:I was pretty happy with Vermaellen yesterday and in the previous match. He looks to have his head screwed on a bit better and we do need a good back up to Kos and the BFG. There was still the occasional unnecessary foray into the opposition half but he definitely has talent.
But again we seen his reckless charges up the pitch with no regard of where he needs to beAt one stage yesterday he left mert with a 1 v 1 with Carlton cole but luckily BFG sorted it out but, given mertesackers lack of pace, I wouldn't be comfortable with him being left isolated like that too often

Name and shame ldb cos I don't remember anyone saying that dissed him as a footballerI rose concerns about his body language and it is something that seriously concerns me, but his football ability isn't shining through as much as it should really - at one stage he received a ball about 10yds inside their half and with his back to their goals, and with one drop of his shoulder he turned and left 2 of their players standing like fools
All that being said, I don't think we are seeing enough of him in the games - it would be one thing if he was receiving the ball and was immediately closed down by 2 opposition players, but it is another thing entirely when he appears to go missing altogether

Re: WHAM - this (Last) Christmas
Guess Ozil has had a bit of a shock to the system at the intensity of the football here, the speed and physical toughness of the game?
But he can adapt, put in a good pre-season, maybe add a bit of bulk in the way Rosicky and Koscielny did after their first seasons here.
Ozil is a fantastic passer, the way he traps the ball and passes it on is incredible, never seen any player do it with such speed and accuracy.

Every player can adapt IF their head is in the right place and right now I dont think ozil's is. I know that when you leave madrid you are always going to be joining a smaller club cos madrid is the biggest club in the world, but ozil was effectively pushed out the door so I would understand how he might not come to terms with that yet. The post match citeeh reaction was a very bad sign for me too - fair enough he didnt think to go over but when mert went over to him (and lets not forget that BFG is a fellow german) and he still ignored him and went in, then to me it signifies a "me attitude". Let me also say that I had questioned his body language prior to that citeeh game so I aint picking on him over that one incident
I would be gutted if he never adapted - the one truly world class signing we have had in years and for him to not work out would be a disaster imo

Re: WHAM - this (Last) Christmas
Özil was never pushed out of Madrid. He was an integral player for them. Bale coming in made him want to go, because he deemed his place to be under threat. While di Maria, who's place was also under threat as a result of Bale's arrival, relished the battle hence Madrid offloaded the player who didn't want to stay anymore.

Don't get me wrong, he should have gone to the fans at City but perhaps he was pissed off at having lost? People respond to losing in different ways, I'm a massive sulker when I lose and probably would do something similar to Ozil were I in his shoes. http://pic.twitter.com/Iwg3vwsBAMaugie wrote:QuartzGooner wrote:Guess Ozil has had a bit of a shock to the system at the intensity of the football here, the speed and physical toughness of the game?

I watched him a fair few times for Madrid (although can't say I was paying really close attention) but I can't say I've noticed a massive change in his manner since joining us. Look at the start of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cKszEMbcf8 hardly singing and dancing is he? There are a few other videos around of when he was at madrid and it seems to me that his style was largely the same.
Mesut Ozil: "Moving to Arsenal has been the perfect step for me, I couldn't be any happier".

I think it was a simple case that Madrid needed to recoup some of the Bale money and Ozil was the one we were after and commanded a much bigger fee then Di Maria who is a different type of player but nowhere near as good.1989 wrote:Özil was never pushed out of Madrid.
