NEWCASTLE GAME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We are top of the table because, bar the Aston Villa mare, we've been dispatching the dross that make up lower quadrants of the table without fail.

Podolski is back and seems hell bent on personifying the cannons..

Theo is scoring for fun again.

Our midfield absolutely shats on theirs.

Toons are pretty much a mid table outfit on what can only be expected to be a short lived fairy tale run.

They have been our bitches for some time now and were one of the last teams we gave a proper pasting.

We beat them on their patch last season to secure the holy grail of trophies, so we should at least have some psychological advantage going into this one.

We have Wenger.

Toons favourites, IMO.

chesney

sagna
BFG
tv5
gibbs

arteta
flamoney

wally
cazorla
ozil

worlds greatest danish striker

That is not my preferred team but is the one I expect that he will run with today. The changing of manager down in the swamp will have muddied (no pun intended) the waters for today - in an ideal world (for wenger) he would rotate next week in the cup but dare he risk doing so against the scum and especially against a manager who will be trying to prove himself in every single game ?

Today I am expecting a drab but physical battle which is what we have come to expect from pardew (c*nt  ). I think it will be a draw but we could just sneak a 1 nil win

Word on Twitter is that Özil hasn't travelled with the squad. With Rambo also missing it is a bit of a worry. Luckily Santi is back on form.

It very much depends on if we leave it until the 88th minute to make a shot on goal.
I've no idea what our performance will be like today, I just hope it'll be a good one and we get the 3pts.

Good luck, Arsenal!

Sky - and the media in general - are getting far too carried away with Newcastle's 5-1 win over Stoke the other day. Let's not forget that Stoke had two players sent off, and that they led 1-0 when it was 11 vs. 11. Newcastle are a decent team, but they're not the consistent force they're being made out to be. If not for the red cards, they may well have lost that game on Boxing Day.

Well, six. Podolski should be on the pitch.

You know what, when I was typing it, I first said 6 but tbh Poldi isn't that great. A slightly better option than Giroud at this moment but he's never been brilliant.
