The Scum Thread/Stadium Redevelopment

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

there is NO way they're getting CL football, NO way.

they spent 110 million quid in the offseason and then fire their manager like that? comical.

Liverpool looked really good today going forward against City (even though they lost) and should finish in top 4 with City and us and Chelsea. I'd back Everton to finish ahead of Scum.

I think Liverpool will blow it. If they go on and lose at Chelsea I think they'll drop plenty of points between now and mid-Feb. They've only got 5 points on United (having still to go there) who are not the team they were but will still pick up wins when playing poorly and as they showed yesterday still have some fear factor at times.

Er and Utd too, they could easily finish 7/8 if Newcastle maintain some form (not Sunday though) and if so then Sherwood will be getting the axe too.

Cue panic, give it to Tim for 18 months. They're clearly hedging their bets on getting CL football and the income that goes with it, which I guess they think will make them a more attractive proposition to potential new managers. The thing is, unless they drastically improve and the teams above them drastically flop, they don't look like getting CL football at all.
i think they also forgot its world cup year and no-one leaves a WC job to go to spurs

if they are 7/8 at the end of Feb he's gone i reckon.

i also think the mickeys are about the same level as us, so no way the spuds make 5th.

Saw an interview with Dim Sherwood today , obviously it was a few years old, where he said that Tottenham may have been the biggest club he played for but Blackburn were the best.

The Spuds never learn, do they? It doesn't matter how intelligent the person is, once they put on a shirt/blazer with a chicken on a beach ball logo, they turn delusional :?

Tottenham's record £30m signing Erik Lamela, 21, wants to go out on loan with Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid keen on taking the Argentine winger.

Tottenham winger Erik Lamela has been capped six times by Argentina.
Full story: Daily Mirror

They really are the gift that never stops giving aren't they?

Lamela makes Andy Carroll look a snip at 35m

No surprise there - he's 21 and doesn't speak any English.

He's only appeared for them 6 times mostly as a sub.

From Skysports Transfer Centre;

Reports in a couple of papers this morning claim Tottenham are considering a £4million bid for West Brom striker Shane Long in January. To help fund the offer, The Sun on Sunday suggests that Spurs striker Jermain Defoe will be on his way to Major League Soccer club Toronto FC in a £6million deal.

:coffeespit:

I'd fucking piss myself laughing if this happened. From being linked to David Villa in summer to some West Brom reject in January

I think the Defoe to Toronto deal is happening regardless of Long coming in, Defoe to move in March.

Have to say, I will literally piss myself if they appoint capello - this is a guy whose english didnt improve one jot in all the time he was engerland manager and whose arrogance has gone off the charts in recent years

Oops I was wrong. Turns out this is the lowest of the low for this forum. I cant believe an Arsenal fan wrote that without it being in jest

I refuse to believe it could be as bad as someone stating they would still want avb as our manager after failing at two lesser London clubs.
