It's the worst kept secret in football that Lewandowski is Bayern bound. Should be officially announced soon.augie wrote:Still think that lewandowski is gettable for any big club IF they make real serious moves to sign him - there is no doubt that dortmund wont want him to go to bayern so if a decent sum was offered to them it could nudge them to force the issue

Re: January transfer rumours thread
I think David Villa's, coming and Cesc will follow in the summer. Arteta and or Flamini will leave.

and i know you'll think i'm mental but i'd risk something on Altidore - big and strong, only 24, scored 40 odd goals in 60 something games in the Erdevision.clockender1 wrote:I think David Villa's, coming and Cesc will follow in the summer. Arteta and or Flamini will leave.
once he gets his fitness up and decent service, he could be our sylvain wiltord.
woth a 10million pop surely ?

He's all but signed for Bayern, I don't know why people keep thinking he is an option.augie wrote:Still think that lewandowski is gettable for any big club IF they make real serious moves to sign him - there is no doubt that dortmund wont want him to go to bayern so if a decent sum was offered to them it could nudge them to force the issue
I'm sure it's a tough decision for him, multiple league and CL trophies with Bayern or 4th place and getting dicked in the last 16 every year with us.

Dortmund were 5th till in the Bundesliga and after he joined them his goals helped propel them to win the league.MrT wrote:He's all but signed for Bayern, I don't know why people keep thinking he is an option.augie wrote:Still think that lewandowski is gettable for any big club IF they make real serious moves to sign him - there is no doubt that dortmund wont want him to go to bayern so if a decent sum was offered to them it could nudge them to force the issue

Dortmund are possibly heading backwards again because they have started selling their best players, what is wrong with us bidding for him. He doesn't strike me as a Pep type striker and he may not fancy him.
Off course I could be wrong and as Marca are saying today, Bayern will announce his signing on Jan 2nd.
Suppose you are right, if the Bayern deal isn't certain we shouldn't go in for him. Let's try for Dozy Altidore or Defoe, heck let's see if Robbie Earnshaw is willing to leave the MLS. Why think big when we can settle for mediocrity.

At about the same time as Higuain signs for us....just the medical to go eh?1989 wrote:It's the worst kept secret in football that Lewandowski is Bayern bound. Not sure what you're getting at. My point was there is no point considering him as an option when he will probably announce his move to Bayern any day now. If that flops then I'm all for trying to get him.topgoon wrote:Dortmund were 5th till in the Bundesliga and after he joined them his goals helped propel them to win the league.MrT wrote:He's all but signed for Bayern, I don't know why people keep thinking he is an option.augie wrote:Still think that lewandowski is gettable for any big club IF they make real serious moves to sign him - there is no doubt that dortmund wont want him to go to bayern so if a decent sum was offered to them it could nudge them to force the issue

We're talking about Wenger here, whether or not he decides to buy the fucking obvious is a complete mystery. Of course it would kill Giroud if he signed a WC striker and we all know he doesn't like to do that to his precious players.

Re: January transfer rumours thread
its becoming pretty obvious that we wont ever be signing a suarez type striker as Wenker clearly sees Giroud as our main striker sadly and would only sign someone to play second fiddle.personally although Girouds been ok enough this term id prefer him as many would as a second string striker, someone to throw on as a sub.We are in a great position to win the title,i know we all think we wont including myself but we are half way through the season and the table doesn't lie,we are world class striker away from possibly winning the league but the stubborn old dinosaur wont sign anybody of note we all know that,Wenkers stubbornness will again cost us,the bloke never learns does he
