As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Taken from a random passage of play. I count 3 newcastle c*nts going in to our box each being picked up by Sagna, PM and Kos respectively. Just because they're not all strikers by name doesn't mean they weren't playing 3 up top. Didn't think I had to explain that.... I can get you more examples if you think that only happened once in the last 15 mins or you gonna admit you were wrong?
So if a midfielder or defender makes a run into the opposition penalty area it automatically means that they are actually being played as a striker ? To think that all those miserable fcukers on here have been complaining that we have had only 1 striker all season (giroud) when the reality is that we have also played flamoney, ramsey, rosicky and wilshere there
Ldb, I also think that it is a shit pundit created myth that a team automatically needs a big player to hold possession when the team is under pressure - I mean lets look at bendtner as an example of a guy that lacks the movement and ball control required to play the lone striker role whilst a smaller player like rvp excelled in the same role. People point to podolski's inability to hold up play and they are 100% correct in doing so but the reality is that the worlds greatest Danish striker is no better at it

Are you seriously pretending you don't know the difference between players making runs into the box during normal play, and a team sticking extra men up front in the last 10 minutes to chase an equaliser? Just like a couple of seasons back when we were chasing games and we'd stick Mertesacker up front and launch the balls to him. Just because he's usually a defender it doesn't take away from the fact that it's an extra man up front for balls to be pumped into.
Anyway, I don't understand what you're trying to deny. Newcastle had more attackers in our box, we needed more defenders to cope. It's as simple as that. It worked. They didn't score. How hard is it to understand why the sub was made?
They do say that Christmas and New Year are the worst times for arguments and fighting amongst family groups ,why should this forum be any different !
No matter how tenuous our position is we are still at the right end of the Table .
Some astute purchases in January might see us through to the end but none of us will believe it until we see it happen.
