Bendtner; The Leg-end

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I must admit that I too sometimes struggle to tell the difference between 'fear' and 'pray'.

Bendtner is a hero. Not only did he heroically score the all important goal for us the other day, but also made sure to get injured right after scoring to force Wenger into signing a striker.

Although if he wasn't actually so shit we wouldn't so desperately need another striker...

I think we should give Bendy a bit of slack,no player at all can play at their best as a bit part player, any player needs a run,Bendy has never had that luxury with us unlike Giroud who lets face it is hardly prolific.im convinced given a run Bendy would match Girouds exploits hands down, its far too easy to slate a player and say they are shite when you only see fleeting glimpses, you only have to look at Mannone,he was dire for us but now with a run in the sunderland team hes making a name for himself.ok the blokes a dick but so are many of our players,it just seems fashionable to bash at least one player here each season, last season it was Arshavin, who again as a bit part player was dire

I think there's actually some credibility to that statement because I was awaiting comments from the Self Harmer describing how Nic "was an Arsenal boy at heart" and how he proved he has the 'quality' needed to play that role. Well now he's out for the whole window - will that mean he'll change? Sadly I doubt it......

The fixtures after today are relatively kind for the rest of the month and Giroud as of this morning was still listed as being 'a doubt' with illness, so he's hardly going to be out forever. I think he'll stick with Giroud as his main man and use 'like a new signing' Bendtner in late Feb onwards when the season starts slipping away. Best we can hope for is a £2m reject from Fulham, Henry on loan or Salomon FACT Kalou

One thing is certain - Diego Costa isn't coming

On that note I'm going to claim nobody can say I'm not good enough for Arsenal giving I haven't had a run in the side either!

Seem to remember him playing a lot of games in 09/10 season, certainly enough to stake a claim.

His drinking, pie-eating, 'I'm as good as Messi', car-damaging, waiter insulting etc etc antics are more than enough to earn him the abuse he gets. However, he's played over 100 games for us, 42 for Brum and 28 for Sunderland (not to mention his heroics at Juve) and has singularly failed to perform in a manner anywhere near good enough to even suggest he could be a PL footballer, let alone for us.
Given our failure to land a top striker in the Summer did he knuckle down, determined to prove his worth. No, he turned up with his new Fat Samurai look too unfit to even make the bench.
He will never be good enough for us. He doesn't have the talent, nor the physical attributes, nor the attitude.

Exactly. Lets not forget that at the moment this is him playing for his future at any club that will have him too. He's spent the past 4.5 years of his big fat contract being a lazy, moronic halfwit and now he finally realises "oh shit, six months until the 52k per week comes to and end", he decides to make one final effort to land himself another bumper pay deal somewhere. He knows the only clubs that have been in for him recently have been those not willing to pay half his wages, so his only hope now is one last desperate effort to get noticed between now and the end of the season.

like I said the blokes a dick but give him a run like Giroud and hed score as many as him,yes bendys played over 100 games for us but I don't remember him ever playing 10-15 games uninterrupted,Wenker as much as a dick himself obviously still sees something in bendy as do the Danish national team,i think that itself says a little bit.when bendy finally leaves Arsenal and becomes a first choice striker be sure to remember you heard it here first 'Bendtner will match Giroud goal for goal' im pretty sure of that.now where did I put my drugs!!?? 8)

No. Just no, mate. :|

You left a couple of things out of your post. The fact that Giroud has a decent first touch and the Fat Drunk has the first touch of a blind rapist on crack. The fact that Giroud works his socks off as the 1 in the shit 4-5-1 formation and the Fat Drunk doesn't. The fact that Giroud (when fit and not burned out) can link the play very well and finish decently enough and the Fat Drunk can't at any time.

The reason the Fat Drunk didn't get a long run of games is because it is very obvious he is no where near good enough technically. Arsene and the coaches would see this in training every day. And it was even more obvious in actual games. The only reason he is still with us is because no one will pay him what we do. Wenger took a punt on him (as he did with other shit like Mong, LegoHead, Djourou, etc etc) and it didn't pay off. Now we are stuck waiting for his contract to run down. Next stop is Palace for him.

Giroud has done well enough. He ain't world class and never will be. But he is light years ahead of the Fat Drunk and always will be.

It's a travesty that he wasn't included in this year's list.   His 'goals to minutes' ratio during 2013 must be up there with the very best!! :barscarf:

Add to that he won a title winners medal as well and the whole thing reeks of a conspiracy

Who cares about the Ballon d'Or? It's for children not for men like Lord Bendtner.

As they say in Danish:

Da jeg var Barn, talte jeg som et Barn, tænkte jeg som et Barn, dømte jeg som et Barn; efter at jeg er bleven Mand, har jeg aflagt det barnagtige.
