THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I notice he's got a new puffa sleeping bag. This one has much deeper pockets than its glorious predecessor. Could have fooled me.
Any bets on which unattainable player he'll spend the whole summer chasing? My money's on Costa.
Rosicky puts in the most effort of any player ive seen this season, but that Wanker still wont give him a new contract, his logic is to reward Diaby a new contract :banghead:
Not so long ago Rosicky was regarded as "dead wood" on these boards and wouldn't have even been at the club had they had their way. He's been given contract extensions following all of his injuries so I don't expect now to be any different given he's fully fit and performing.
And in fairness Rosicky HAS been deadwood for most of his Arsenal career. I like TR7, believe he is very good technically and hard working, but a half season of good performances doesn't suddenly change the fact he has not contributed anywhere near enough for the duration and hasn't justified what we've paid him. If Diaby comes back fit (stop laughing, Rodders) and puts in 10 games would you say he has justified the amount we have paid him since he signed?
He's already been worth it. Do you want me to post all those YouTube clips again? :D

Just that imperious performance at Anfield alone last year. I'm missing Abou :(

If you remember rightly dear friends the game at Anfield was the one that kick started our season after 2 goalless draws (Le Chapman at his worst) and the imperious Abou was rightly awarded MOTM, putting Gerrard in his place and running the game from first to last

He was then injured driving towards the Chelsea goal.....and as he limped off, a few minutes later our unbeaten run disappeared with it

If only our modern day Invincible had been available more often. Poor Abou :(

Now now augie......I know you keep bringing up that one little episode. We all know it was a show of support for a friend, nothing more. I think its time you moved on and joined me for some good old fashioned Abou worship

2 years till testimonial time - hope we give Abou a big pay day against Barca or someone of that stature

What players?
Diaby for one, should of left the club long ago.

Forget the money - its the cruelty of being robbed of the chance to become the club's finest ever midfielder that hurts

Poor Abou :(

The worlds greatest danish d*ckhead cant be sold cos he refuses to take a pay cut on the bumper contract extension awarded to him a few seasons back by le c*nt

We couldnt get shot of average al until his contract ran out cos no club could afford him

Ditto denilson

You could add eboue to that list as well

And yet AKB's/Wengerites/sheep ( ) will tell you that Arsene has done an amazing job challenging for the title (from August to January) and winning the virtual trophy - considering the lack of money he's had at his disposal! :|

I've said it for years. We've always had the money to compete in the transfer market. It's just been very badly misspent by Arsene on bumper wages, contract extensions and pay rises for shite and average players that haven't earned it. :x

Apparently we are not supposed to use the phrase akb now or it will lead to abusive responses
