Personally I do not think wenger has the balls to pull the trigger on eboue & hleb in the summer and likewise hasnt got the balls to sign big either. He has ducked out of starting theo in every big game this season :x

Dont usually disagree with you gus but I thought cesc kept trying tonight but was probably fucked - in all the games we have rested players this season (steau, sparta, seville, manure in cup and last saturday) I think cesc has played in all the games which isnt fair for a kid of his age. I also thought gallas was poor tonight and couldnt even beat riise in the air
FINE MATE KEPT TRYING BUT SO WOULD HAVE YOU AND ME YEAH?

HE IS FUCKED BUT NOW WE GO BACK TO THE SAME OLD SAME OLD TO SMALL SQUAD ARGUEMENT AND THE FACT WE RELY ON A KID TO PULL THE STRINGS IN MIDFIELD COS HIS NATURAL REPLACEMENT IN THE SQUAD IS.............?????????

:?:

Now you know we are going to be signing from the same hymn sheet on that dont you

Blaming the referee is a fucking cop out. Maybe we should have had a penalty, maybe theirs shouldn't have been, but we should have had enough to at least beat those *word censored* in one of the four times we've met them this season, but we didn't.

The penalty did not cost us the tie. Neither did the referee. The shite defending did.

As Rebel and Augie just said and i agree, there is no leadership! No one to pick the team up when they are down or calm the team down when they are on a high!

Yes we defended poorly. But that does not excuse the fact that with a couple of minutes to go we have come back from the dead to go ahead in the tie. A bad decision from each of the 2 referees in the tie has seen a 2 goal swing against Arsenal.

Blaming the ref is not a cop-out, but it is a statement of fact.

for Liverpools first goal why did alumino just let it out instead of kick it out it was going out,
the boys played bloody well though, we were all over pool in the first half til their scored and when they scored gain we were all over them, i dont understand how one team can play so well and then lose by two goals

The 'Hoof also missed good chances. Our strikeforce is frustrating at times, but we are scoring goals. Our defence is fucking shocking though and it is costing us game after game. Fine, they scored a dodgy penalty, but what about the other three soft goals? Blame the ref if you want, but we're not out of the Champions League because of him. That's called passing the buck. Our defence is shite and something needs to be done. I wouldn't mind so much, but I just know that sweet fuck all is going to be done about it over the summer, and Wenger is just going to sit there with his thumb up his arse waiting for Senderos to become John Terry.
Yes we conceded four goals - but one was from a penalty that wasn't, and another in the last seconds when we have everyone upfield.

To argue that we are out because of referees is not an argument without merit.

In terms of the defence I agree entirely. We could see last season that we didn't have a top class centre half but the Manager apparently could not.
I agree, we obviously need to make some improvements, but that was not the only reason we lost the tie. It's hardly as if Liverpool have 11 world class players and don't need to make their own improvements. Everyone needs bit of good fortune (that or a tactical master mind like Rafa )

You think that's appropirate? Pretty harsh mate, esp aimed at a english player.

Yes it was me who called you a sore loser. Accept it, they were on the whole, (this leg) better than us. Tony (Admin) clearly makes the obvious .. obvious!

Stearmaster.. I dont like losing mate, dont think anyone does. Just cant stand people who are like 'Rar Rar c**ts, Rar Rar Die Gerrard'
We played well, lads done well (bar a few), we WERE robbed on the pen, and AW needs to depthen his squad in summer.

Without doubt we were robbed and the crucial decisions over the tie went to Liverpool. Hleb's last week that wasn't given was more of a penalty than this one was. I believe we were the better side over both legs.

I agree with Tony Saunders that defensively we terrible for all four of their goals. Liverpool's main dangermen Torres, Crouch and Gerrard hardly got involved in the game yet they still ended up scoring 4 goals. However, I still felt that the performance merited more than we ended up getting - yet again!!

Basically, it boils down to this: the same suspects let us down yet again!! Senderos, Eboue, Almunia, Gilberto and to slightly smaller extent Adebayor and Hleb. Now the first three players have got to be got rid of by Arsene and we have to find other quality players to pressure the latter for what seems their automatic places.

There is saying in football that close matches are decided by fine margins. Alas, we have yet again been on the wrong end of the line. :(

Senderos and Adebayor fucking appaling tonight what a lazy *word censored* Ade is and Senderos just isnt good enough plain and simple..... The defence was bad tonight and cost us the match. Theo was electric when he came on that is the sort of player we want to see. I said somewhere on this forum last week if we had bought Torres we would have won the league this season still think the same. When will Wenger buy?????????

Playing well and not winning isnt good enough Arsene ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
