Groundhog summer transfer window thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Do you conversations with other fans normally have a direct impact on transfers? :?

We only signed Silvestre because some Man Utd fan bigged him up in front of a Gooner from Basingstoke and that gullible Gooner actually believed him

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to sign Schalke playmaker Julian Draxler, 20, for £35m and then turn him into the new Robin van Persie.
Full story: Daily Mirror

What! you mean only play an average of 9 games per season due to injuries, have balsawood knees and glass ankles then become a Judas *word censored* and fuck off to another club after one decent season!!?

oh well.

Tht sums us up lets buy an attacking midfielder for 35m to turn him into a striker, you would think it simpler just to buy a fucking striker, mind you if he did buy a striker he would probably try and turn him into a centre half.

Stupid b*stard is too dumb to realise that if we meet draxler's release clause fee then there is nothing they or schalke can do about it  Of course I am not expecting that we will buy him (at least not in this month) but the point remains anyway

This is what it means to be Tottenham, this is what it means to be small,

What a pathetic little club with it's pathetic little club mentality.

If Schalke were thinking about selling Draxler to one of the Spuds' Thursday night rivals like Swansea or Southampton I could understand his stance

37 million for a 20 yr old...you're having a giraffe.

Look at how the Lamela deal is working out for the spuds - he might not make the WC either ...
