Man City - Cocky B'stards!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Man City - Cocky B'stards!!

Post by Pierre32 »

Am I alone in getting just a little "miffed" with all this "Quadruple Boasting" ??

"It's only a matter of time" - Kompany. A guy I have a lot of respect for. Great footballer. Keep your mouth shut!

I hope Barca smash 'em in the CL !

I hope Sunderland smash 'em in the Capital One.

I hope they come unstuck in the FA Cup (Somewhere along the line).

And (The Big One)....I hope the famous AFC "pip em" in the race for the title.

COME ON YOU GUNNERS - Class is Permanent !!

Probably more the press building them up - they did the same to us a few years back and then took great joy as we crashed out of one competition after another in short succession.

Hope City suffer the same, but you have to say they have much greater squad depth than we did.

Which season was that? Was it 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12 or 2012/13? Sometimes I forget.

The problem I have is that if (sorry when) we don't win it, I look at the list of other potential winners of the title i.e. Chavski and outsiders like the Mickeys......and I'd have to opt for them

Hope of course they fuck all the others up

Class may be permanent, but at least they invest in their team and dare to dream of winning the big ones.

At the moment we are all Fur and no knickers, as will be shown in March when the lack of proper investment in January is brutally exposed by Bayern, Chavs and the so-called classless ones.

I am not a fan of some the JCL's now associated with Shitty but I actually envy them, not their money but the fact that they dream of the summit, something most of us have forgotten how to do.

FYI there is something slightly classless about charging your fans top money and then shopping at bargain basement French clubs for strikers

We wont win the league or the champs league this year so I hope citeeh win the league and although I would prefer if Dortmund or ath Madrid won the champs league, I wouldn't be unduly stressed as citeeh winning it.

As topgoon rightly pointed out, we as a club are so fcuking hypocritical and full of shit and snobbery that it is embarrassing sometimes  We talk about financial prudence but yet pay our non achieving manager wages that puts him in the top 3 of world football. We talk about unfair financial competition but yet don't think it unfair to charge way above the going rate in comparison to the rest of world football clubs.
Moaning about the unfairness of having to compete with mega rich clubs but still opposing the man who wealth would allow us to compete again is ridiculous - taking a position of principal against "artificial" wealth is a waste of time because it is in and will be in as long as there are wealthy individual/groups willing to buy and invest in football so we either get on board or accept that fact that we will never ever be a top club again

There is no arrogance here whatsoever, this is the media building them up so they can knock them down and proclaim a crisis if it doesn't happen.

Fucking irritating. They have the squad to win all 4, only some dodgy ref call in the CL will probably prevent it.

That was the one. Bent as hell, but don't get me started on that one. Apparently if you have no shots on target then it's ok for the ref to be bent 8)

It was the year of our glorious day out at Wembley against Birmingham. Really can't wait to see us back at that stadium again

I'll never forget Sounness and the fellow pricks on Sky Sports lambast what a disgrace we were at the Nou Camp even though we got shafted by the ref and still nearly went through against the best team Europe had seen for years and years.

And then go on and praise to high heaven Spurs' 'brave' performance at the Bernabeu where they got completely raped 4-0 and the only reason it was less than 5 at half time was because the ref missed 2 stonewall pens for Madrid. Cue dickhead Wilkins referring to Spurs as "us" and "we" after the pundits had made it fairly obvious they were glad we went out after being completely outplayed in Barcelona.

I am such a bitter bloke

I don't take Man City serious, without the sugar daddy they'd probably be in the championship.
They're not even a big club, the top tier against blackburn in the semi wasn't even open.
A big club sells out against the likes of coventry on a fri night in the 4th round of the f a cup :barscarf:
If it wasnt for chelsea and citys money, it would be us and the mancs still fighting to be champions.

They seem to forget it wasn't so long ago they were trudging away from Wembley thinking they'd been dicked by Gillingham in the League One play off final........only to run back celebrating like they'd won the Champions League when they came from behind to win on penalties

Small time
