Old forum back....

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Old forum back....

Post by Rob Admin »

Ok since all I have read is compliants and moaning about how the new board here is the old one back.

Don't come asking for help when you're machine is over run with viruses, the upgrade was done for secuirty issues but it seems the more most important thing is which side of the screen avatars appears as some users are left handed!

It's beyond me, I give up!

Rob.

Rob, they're a bunch of ungrateful whingers! New, old, I don't give a fuck, just as long as the forum's here. Well done for putting up with it all!

The old forum works better than the new one did. But i guess it was still early days. Get a new forum that works, with the avatars on the left, then maybe it'll be ok.

I missed the changes. Been on holiday. If the changes were made, as Rob said, to avoid viruses, then all the moaners have done themselves a dis-service by pressing for a return to the norm.

Sorry for all the time wasted, Rob. I liked the changes, but I guess you can't please everyone. At least a few people will be happy now that the avatars are back!

Thankyou, this one is much better. :D

Any chance we could get back the threads that were started on the 'new' forum? There was one I posted that invited people to insult the whores of Russia.....

i think there is an illusion amongst some out there that the forum runs itself. actually, that's not true. even when its look does not change it is constantly in need of tinkering due to security issues, not least constant and time consuming back ups.

people never like change, although invariably changes which are not made purely for change's sake are for the benefit of everyone. rob wouldn't have spent most of yesterday working on a new look forum out of some creative impulse.

so for everyone mourning the loss of wednesday's posts, please do it in the privacy of your own headspace. it's taken as read that you want them back, but it isn't going to happen. those went with rob's decision to relent to the number of posts complaining about the changes.

after a hard day's work, i think the negativity caught him at a low moment, and the plug was pulled in frustration at the lack of understanding of what he was trying to do.

i've suggested he doesn't even look at the forum for 24 hours to give himself a break from those that caused his frustration, so please don't PM him today, ok?

i do accept also that not everyone was having a go. but there were obviously enough.
