Meanwhile the farce of the loan system continues - Cardiff are set to sign 3 PL players on loan which may well make the difference between them staying up or going down. The whole system is just a complete joke. You've got Chelsea who have an entire squad's worth of players (24) loaned out with all of them having virtually no prospect of first-team football ever. Farcical situation whereby Citeh were paying Adebayor £100k/w to play for Spurs in the same league (which is still continuing until the notional end of his Citeh contract I understand).
Couldn't agree more about the loans. Also, Everton getting plaudits despite borrowing Barry and Lukkaku from teams above them. Good luck in the summer when you have to fill those gaps in the team again.
In the past 3 seasons Chavs have loaned players to Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Real Madrid. For me the whole point of the loan system is to allow young players to gain first-team experience or to cover emergencies. Not for clubs to buy any talented player that becomes available to prevent him from going to rivals. Not for clubs with more than adequate finances and standing to make full-time signings instead. And not to allow clubs to artificially punch above their weight by showing them blatant favouritism like United used to with Darren Ferguson and now Solskjaer.

Moyesey mustnt have got that memo.

There you go Arsene.....
Remember Mata? Another one you dithered over.

As a general rule you can't . Even Fergie used to say it. What they really mean is that the only way a club is selling you one of their good players in January is if they are in debt or they are ripping you off.

The chavs managed to get Gollum to pay that much for a player Maureen doesn't want, Now that's what I call a result.

Meanwhile Chavs are closing in on Costa and we sit there and do nothing. :banghead:

When he is eventually fit "he will be like a new signing" won't he ?

The same chavs that spent 50m on torres a few years ago ? For me the price is largely irrelevant cos one mans rubbish is another mans treasure and just cos moaninho didn't want mata it doesn't make him a bad player.
Anyway truth be told there are many many clubs out there that are financially hamstrung so it is just about making the right offer

If we sign Jung, I presume Sagna is going to leave on a free this summer.

The way Sagna has played this season, it would be mad to let him go. Unless he wants to :(

Watching bt sport at the mo and there is a german journalist on it who says that we ARE in negotiations with schalke over draxler but that agreeing on a price is not proving easy - he says that schalke are claiming that draxler has a €45m buyout clause for the summer and don't believe that they should sell him now for less which is fair enough.

Btw he also says that draxler will be back from injury in a couple of weeks :barscarf:
