THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Puma are this minute refining their designs for an oversized, 7" long sleeping bag with water bottle flap.

BBC Sportsday, don't know if its already been posted.
So no more ambiguity as it relates our fate then.

Well and truly consigned to another 3 years of mediocrity, VT, continued failure to address glaring squad deficiencies, just to name a few among his plethora of unmitigated flaws, which are, of course, too many to list. :banghead:

This is a set back, I'll give you that. But I remain convinced that after the debacle of February and March he will be in no position to sign. We live in hope.

Don't do this to yourself mate. Time to give Blondi the cyanide pill and grab your revolver. Wenger is getting a new deal and your utopia is shattered.

This is a sad day.

Always felt that Wenger would sign an extension but it still comes as a shock to the system when its sort of "official"
It feels similair to when you've been living with a sick, elderly grandparent for years. You know its inevitable that they will pass away sooner or later but it still comes as a massive shock when it actually happens.

It feels like a bereavement.

He did say hed sort his contract in January. Just didnt say when it would be "announced"

I hope that the Black Scarf Movement will remind the Board that its inappropriate until to award a contract until we've won something, or else how is the manager motivated ?

The Board should have spent this window focusing on strengthening the team NOT on re-signing a manager that has won nowthing during his last two contracts.

Have I missed something ?
Has wenker signed a new contract ?
If not then what has changed since yesterday that has caused this outpouring of sadness ?

The reality is that up to this point the cic has stated that he will sign an extension when the time is right and today the same thing was said except for the fact that smarmy ivan was the one saying it so we are where we were yesterday as far as I am concerned. Of course I am expecting the c*nt will sign a new contract but, try as I might, I cant help but be hopeful that he will finally fcuk off with each passing day that the contract remains unsigned

its got to be said..wenger owned mourinho in his press conference today.

mourinho saying "arsenal always have the most rest between fixtures, always"

wenger found out its proven that out of the top clubs that's completely false, because its a FACT that we've actually had the least rest in between games in the last 5 years.

"I don't deal with opinions, I deal with facts"

I don't say it often but I thought wenger handled that brilliant today.

I'm sure Mourinho knows that half the stuff he comes out with is utter rubbish - or just doesn't care whether it's true or not. He did the same when he started spouting off about Dein being on the FA and our preferable post-CL home/away fixture ratio (which was proven to be completely inaccurate).

But the last thing Wenger needs to start doing is wading into these slanging matches and what he said in the first place was utterly ridiculous. The more Mourinho winds him up the more stubborn Wenger will become and the more determined he will be to beat him without spending money and without adjusting his tactics.
