Southampton Away

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

1 shot in the entire first half, and that was from a corner. we've created absolutely nothing from open play.

Maybe the players are deliberately looking as tired as they possibly can in an attempt to force Wenger to buy some reinforcements :rubchin:
We've had the joys of playing Southampton 3 times thus far (with a 4th game to come) and one thing about them is, although they play decent football, they always seem to get a bit sloppy for a period, when they play well they rarely keep it going for 90 minutes. I think you'll get a good few chances second half, might even predict a sneaky 2-1 win for the Arsenal
Thing is our resident Mackem, we played them 12 months ago away from home and couldn't combat their hard pressing and well-organised approach. It was one of the worst performances I can remember us putting in - devoid of creativity or any sort of tactical effort. We've also looked lacklustre playing Flamini and Arteta together this season and had a huge warning about playing Ozil and Cazorla together away from home in the second half at Villa. Lessons have not been learned.
I agree you need to make changes like. To be honest if I could only have one out of Ozil and Cazorla it'd be Cazorla every time. Podolski is the obvious one to bring on, and probably Gibbs as well, then you've always got Oxlade-Chamberlain to bring on later and test them if you've pulled one back (I'd probably let Bendtner rest today after his exertions in the cup  )

GET IN! Desperately needed, great play from Sagna. Didn't panic and foul the man and then kept his composure and played a cracking ball in. PLATFORM, COME ON ARSENAL.

Well I sincerely hope you're right!

Edit to add: that's better 1-1

Yet again, they've got sloppy! Didn't expect my 2-1 to happen quite so quickly! Edit: spoke to soon, just as well I didn't have money on it
