It seemed important with the last petition.
Re: Lifelong Coventry fan facing ban.
So the next time a fire breaks out in a stand we will all have to be burned alive or risk prosecution if we run on to the pitch .
Great law that one ,next you'l be telling me the Police will be prosecuting poor people for eating out of the rubbish bins at Iceland ,
Could'nt happen in Britain could it !

is plain wrong .
Some of you seem very happy to have your civil liberties removed as they have been in the USA ,it's always a gradual process but it basically means the Police will pick and choose when to enforce laws as they do now .
This particular law was brought out 2 years after Hillsborough which of course would have been prevented if people had heeded the words of the late great dennis hillwood ,and they had let people onto the pitch as an escape route.
To criminalise a man for daring to encroach on the field is just wrong IMHO,but obviously I'm in the minority here.

Im with you Herd, its a police state- you cant even have a pee on Michael Jacksons statue without some Bastard with a hat that we used to be able to pee into intervening, and worse being videod doing it. Diabolical.
Common sense has gone out of the window. Im sure he has learnt his lesson, which I guess is the intent of punishment

I don't think people getting crushed to death is a particularly useful comparison in any way to some prick who fancies larking around on the pitch in the middle of a match.Herd wrote:Oh yes it is ,I agree this man was a pratt but for a magistrate to say where he can go and what he can do on a SaturdayThat's not how it works mate![]()

If a bloke cannot abide by that one simple rule that hundreds of thousands of other fans up and down the country each weekend have no problem obeying then he doesn't really get much sympathy from me for this supposed violation of his civil liberties. If he can't be trusted to stay off the pitch during a game in this day and age he shouldn't be going to games.

If its proven he's English then Platini will issue a lifetime ban from all European grounds for the serious crime of bowing to the supporters
Meanwhile next time Olympiacos and Panatinaikos stab each other, threaten to kill the ref and throw flares at each other it will be explained away as 'cultural differences'
