Old forum back....

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Rob I am sorry if I offended you in any way. I did have a bit of a moan about the pink background but I also thought most of the moaning was done tongue in cheek - early in the day there was a lot of frustration as we couldnt find the forum page, then the logging on and not being able to post issues but as the day went on we were getting used to the changes and you could see the improvement hour by hour. We do appreciate the work you put in on this forum on an ongoing basis not just yesterday and because we need it was going to take time for you to fine tune the new layout I think we were prepared to delay judgement until that day - I honestly felt that the highlighting of the avatars, colours etc was done in hope that these were issues that you could amend as you fine tune them rather than demands to fix them right away.

Anyway thanks again for your efforts and hopefully it wont deter you from trying again although maybe patience and tolorence would have been higher if we were forewarned next time :?:

It was certainly heading in the right direction wasn't it.
To be honest the only thing I didn't like was the blue page early on and the having to log on each time.
In hindsight I think we might have been a bit unfair on Rob yesterday and for any part I played in that I offer my most humble apologies.
There is one point however that I would make and stand by. Considering what had happened the night before and how we all needed to get shit off our chests etc. I don't think it was a good time to tinker.

Well, that is a real shame, that the moaners who couldn't adapt to a little change and improvement have pissed off the webmaster so much. I never liked the old board, because red text on a red background in the topics page was always annoying and unreadable. Yesterday's new board was a gigantic improvement, and much easier and cleaner to read. I hope, when the dust settles, that the new board will come back, and Rob's work will be appreciated. Maybe the combination of a few snipers and Liverpool was all too much.

Sorry Rob, didnt mean to complain and cheese you off (I am one of the guilty left handers).
You obviously work really hard to keep this forum going, and I think like the others said, change is hard to adapt to especially the morning after the night before.

I prefer this look for this forum. My one looked exactly the same so I found it annoying, and this works version works faster. By the way, I didn't complain

REJOICE!!! THE OLD FORMAT - WHICH DISTINGUISHED IT FROM EVERY OTHER 2-BIT FORUM OUT THERE - IS BACK. I FOR ONE AM VERY HAPPY.
I WASN'T EVEN GOING TO BOTHER TO COME ON HERE TODAY, SUCH WAS MY DISPLEASURE AT THE NEW SET-UP BUT AM NOW GLAD I DID.

SORRY ROB FOR MOANING BUT, LIKE SOMEONE ELSE HAS ALREADY SAID, IT WAS SPRUNG ON US AT AN INCONVENIENT TIME WHEN WE WERE ALL STILL IN SHOCK/MOURNING FROM TUESDAYS RESULT. BEING A TECHNOLOGY DIM-WIT, I HAVE TO ASK, COULDN'T THE EXTRA SECURITY HAVE BEEN ADDED WHILST KEEPING THE LAYOUT THE SAME?

IN ALL SINCERITY, EVEN IF US FORUM REGULARS DON'T MAKE IT KNOWN ENOUGH, WE ALL DO VERY MUCH APPRECIATE THE WORK PUT IN BY BOTH ROB AND KEVIN TO GIVE US THIS FACILITY. OUR LIVES WOULD SOMEHOW FEEL INCOMPLETE WITHOUT IT.

ONCE AGAIN, SORRY IF YOU BELIEVE YOUR EFFORTS ARE UNDER-APPRECIATED. HOWEVER, NEXT TIME YOU PLAN TO FUCK ABOUT - AT LEAST GIVE US FAIR WARNING!!   AS A FAMOUS SAYING ONCE PROCLAIMED: EVOLUTION NOT REVOLUTION!! 8)

Ah, bollix to that! Rob is only a crunt anyway.

ONLY KIDDING ROB!!

I too think it was the combo of getting f*cking robbed by the mousers and then the next morning when we all needed some familiar Gooner debate to lift our spirits, we were hit with something totally new. The timing was unfortunate, I guess.

The vast majority of members on here know the great work Rob and Kevin put into this forum and really appreciate it. I don't think anyone was having a go at either of the lads, it was all just a bit of a shock. Like when the club changed our glorious traditional crest and gave us the cartoon sheild... :?

I also sincerely apologise to Rob if he took offence at my comments. Sorry, mate.

the irony of it all is that rob was so p*ssed off by the liverpool game he got to work to take his mind off it. no way could he sleep, so he buried himself in making the changes - which i am sure were always on the agenda - getting to bed at 3.30 am and then continuing to fix the various issues during the process of yesterday.

he could not have predicted the course of action he took when the liverpool game kicked off on tuesday night as it was simply a result of his anger at events at anfield.

my own solution was to go straight to bed at 10pm. awoke at 4 though and could not get the game out of my head, so got up at 5am to write my online ed which i found wonderfully cathartic.

think we were all affected in different ways by events on tuesday evening and yesterday was never going to go smoothly for anyone in the aftermath.

thanks for all kind comments on the work we do, but when it comes to the forum and the main part of the website, the majority of the credit is due to rob. i just take care of the simpler stuff (and get that wrong half of the time) :?
