THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We must meet up mate :D

I'm actually in the Upper Tier bizarrely this time as a mate of mine bought the ticket before deciding to go to some poor fucker's wedding weekend.....but I shall be keeping a watchful eye on a grey haired bearded gentleman in his 70s and hoping that you're joining him in the worshipping Block 2 mass !

Fair play.

Yep, of course I'll be joining in, although rather than worship I like to think of it as 'respectful admiration of a man who knows'

I've asked the caterers if they can produce your very own 'furburger' at the BBQ in honour of There's Only One's new contract

Lack of intelligence required to have a reasonable debate/discussion/argument leads to childish retorts like these

I know and I should be used to it but sometimes it really makes me angry.
No idea why I let them get to me.

There's also the original "Who would we buy then? Go on" followed by reasons why we didn't get/couldn't possibly get the player

Of course it is the boards fault cos wenker showed with the purchase of ozil that he is willing to spend money

And of course if you are not happy with wenker then who could we get to replace him ?

Finally I like the comments that tell us how happy we should be that we have a lovely stadium and play nice football - I know that was the first thing I looked for when I become a footie fan almost 40 years ago

Because Wenger was definitely solely responsible for us signing Ozil

And even that's false. We haven't played what I would class as "nice football" (quick, high tempo passing and interplay WITH A PURPOSE, ie to attack to opposition's goal) since, let's see now, oh yes 2004

I'm sorry that's one of the silliest things I've read on here in a while. You don't think we attack with a purpose? wtf

We play nice football - sometimes. Just like we attack with purpose - sometimes. Since the turn of the year we've been doing so less and less. Whole games against Cardiff and Southampton and half of the Villa and Fulham matches we were insipid going forward. Its not just that we didn't create enough, our play was either sloppy, pedestrian or both.
