Re: Natalie's Deadline Day Titfest Thread
[Too true , Brigitte was a top bird in her day , but its not often you get woken up ,sleeping rough , and yes there is Leslie . He was doing a european tour promoting 99 1/3 and he came over to say hello , others must have seen him the day after the final[/quote]
We saw him at the airport on the way home the following day, as well as the guy who refereed the game (who autographed my ticket).
The day before we saw Tom Watt and Jeremy Beadle.
A genuine star-studded couple of days!

Re: January transfer rumours thread
That's probably not a bad thing. Some Ligue1 experience will help to assess whether he is able to play at the high level. At least if he doesn't get injured (wasn't talking about Sanogo at all thereHenry is a Gooner wrote:green gooner wrote:George Ntep looks nailed on , another Sanogo is just what we need too

Unsurprising that instead of going after the striker we desperately need we are far more concerned with sorting out loan deals for players who are nowhere near the first team.

Hope its OK to quote this- all seems like its heading for a Steve_o correct call

Schalke’s general manager, Horst Heldt, has revealed that Julian Draxler does not have a price on his head confirming that the much-talked about €45 million buyout clause lapsed last year.
However, eager to quash suggestions that Arsenal have begun negotiations for the German midfielder, Heldt also made clear that the Gunners did not send a delegation to the Veltins Arena yesterday and are yet to even make a bid.
“I checked my office if someone was waiting for me, but nobody was there,” he joked today.
“Of course, there are always other clubs interested in him, and should someone make a serious offer for him, then we as a club have to professionally consider that. That does not only apply to Julian Draxler, but to every other player.”
“That [buyout] agreement was only in place for last year, from now on the transfer fee is up for negotiation,” he continued.
“We are happy to have such a world class player in our lines. I am very convinced that Draxler will be playing for us in the second half of the season and most probably beyond that.
“We are not interested in letting Julian leave, and he has also not approached us about a transfer.”
On the surface, with just over 24 hours remaining of the transfer window, it looks as though Arsenal’s chances of getting their man are slim.
It would certainly tally with what Wenger said this morning: “In any hour anything can happen or change but at the moment, unfortunately, we are not signing anybody.”

Re: Natalie's Deadline Day Titfest Thread
The whole "Arsenal have sent a delegation" thing was obviously bollocks. Exactly the same thing happened with the Higuain transfer - all of these shitty websites and gossip columns are so desperate to land the scoop that they'll just invent stuff knowing that thousands of morons will believe and retweet it. Then in 2 or 3 days time when nothing has happened they just invent another part of the story - like sending a delegation - to keep plugging the story.
I remember people getting excited that we were going to sign Jovetic because some cretin called Tancredi Palmeri was making these claims that we had enquired, then we'd sent representatives out there, then we had made an offer of £27m but they were holding out for £30m - clearly utter nonsense. But people took his word as gospel every time. Don't know this Honigstein bloke who is driving a lot of these Draxler stories but people are so willing to believe foreign journalists for stuff like this - like with Palmeri and that slimeball Balague.

Re: Natalie's Deadline Day Titfest Thread
they may as well say an Arsenal delegation have gone to meet Elvis with a view to signing him, theres more chance of that than us landing Draxlar this window or any window.Ozil is gonna see the real Arsenal very soon, where the profits are counted and the playing side neglected
