Groundhog summer transfer window thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Re: Natalie's Deadline Day Titfest Thread

Post by goonertux »

I'm glad I'm out tonight, without access to a telly, otherwise I would be watching Natalie's Melons in the slim hope that we might just do some business! 'We' as in Arsenal, not 'we' as in me and Natalie!
It's over people. The chance to sustain a challenge has died this month. Our future, just like our style of play, is just so predictable. 3rd or 4th at best every year now, until he goes. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

You're quoting the Mirror. Got that? They make it all up. All to sell papers. Their's is a universe in which Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse ride around in a car, saving civilisation. :blah: :blah: :blah:

I had been trying to get a ticket for the Munich game, now they can stuff it.
I just hope others also feel this way.
surely short term pain (ie boycotting a couple of matches) could lead to long term gain (a half empty stadium for the showpiece match of the year at the Emirates would surely give the board something to think about?)
Unfortunately this would never happen, as we're in the minority here. The vast majority of fans still believe Wenger is doing an amazing job despite failing to tackle the obvious issues in our squad.

We'll get 3rd/4th place with no trophies, the board will pocket how-ever-many millions, and Wenger will get a new bumper contract. The cycle continues... :banghead:

This isn't my forum so no doubt it is not my place to make this request but have no doubt, this place will undoubtedly go into absolute meltdown tonight and the last thing we need is to have a real serious abusive slagging match that could see this place closed down :( Personally coming on here and venting can be very therapeutic but I don't want to see a situation where Gooners fight with Gooners cos nobody wins then. By all means come on here and post positive and negative stuff but defending either of those on the back of this transfer window performance would be absolute insane
Fuck me Augie me old mate that's your worst post this year

So what your saying is that all the anti-wenger brigade are precious and can't have a reasoned debate without spitting out dummies (presumably in wengers direction  ).

Personally I think the mods should be asking posters to stop the personal insults aimed at Wenger, I have thought it time for a change for some time but stop short of the insults.

Anyhow it's Friday, rejoice in that :barscarf: 8)

How could he justify signing a 30+ year old, after the way he's treating sagna this year for being over 30 and the likes of Dennis and super bob in the past :banghead:

Think he is correctly saying that no one can come on here to defend the inactivity this transfer window,

despite the paragraphs being suspended for the next 3 matches he is spot on

The paragraphs are not coming.

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Meanwhile

Wenger also repeated his opposition to the principle of a mid-season transfer window.

“The window is a distraction from the competition,” he said. “I can understand the interest but it's not football.”

Did he really say that :rubchin:

Sadly I can believe it.

Anyone who thought he was going to sign a quality striker this window is deluded. The business was there to be done in the summer with Higuain or Jovetic or whoever, Wenger has consistently said that Giroud is his main man and as 4-4-2 is out of vogue what decent striker would come anyway, this is the reason that Podolski will be off in the summer, its all very well backing a player who is out of form (Ramsey) or just not good enough (Giroud) when the limit of your ambition is to qualify for a competition you've got fuck all chance of winning.

Ok with Ramsey, he came good and good luck to him, but hey guess what he's injured again, oh thats alright because it gives Diaby a chance, oh wait a minute.

The truth is the vast majority of gooners have very short memories which are fuelled by the media and look at the league table or the last match and think Wenger is a genius, also one I've heard recently is well look at Man U now Fergie has gone and totally missing the point that they were winning fucking trophies every year unlike us. :banghead:

you just know that at some point in the next couple of weeks Giroud is going to get injured leaving Bendtner to play up front against Liverpool in the FA Cup and Munich in the Champions League.

never mind we will have Park on the bench to come on should we need to get a winner

Bollocks to that.......I'm having a few sherbets tonight and will be on here half pissed belting out THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER....when our lord and master manages to be the only PL manager unable to sign a single player in the window despite working 'day and night'

From Wenger's total public denial of activity I highly suspected someone was coming and posted here raising my suspicions, but Kallstrom in and Yennaris and Frimpong out is a very low key transfer window.
Can only think Wenger rates Bendtner!

Shows how ambitious our club is when this is the only positive of our transfer window :barscarf:

Safe to say those posters are not coming either.
