Palace
Re: Palace
No need to freak out just yet.
As someone else said, I'd bring Rosicky on. Maybe even sacrificing Özil (seriously). Nothing against him - he just seems to slow things down in tight, congested games like these. I'd either take him off or Cazorla.
If we speed things up, we'll be alright. If we just pass and pass and wait for the inevitable goal, we may well end up disappointed.

Re: Palace
Very poor first half yet again.
Too slow , not enough width , everyone wanting to play as a centre midfielder instead of spreading out and creating space... playing right into Palace's hands.
Sensible option would be to get Rosicky and Gnabry on NOW to speed things up but that's too sensible therefore Wenger will keep it the same and hope we can break them down!

Re: Palace
I thought the inclusion of Ox and Podolski might speed things up but I was wrong, because, as you say everyone is bunching up in midfield. Fuck sake I know Wenker has wet dreams about a team 10 midfielders but this is ridiculousscotgooner wrote:Very poor first half yet again.![]()

Teams like Palace love the pace we are playing at. We simply have to have more urgency and attack faster

To get the best out of Ozil, we need a runner (Walcott) to make the burst, he can than split the defence, with little to no movement in front he is reduced to playing sideways like the rest of them.
Seriously, its Palace - fucking attack them and rip them to bits .

Re: Palace
Gibbs should be on the pitch instead of Monreal regardless, but especially in a game like this. His final ball might be shit but if nothing else his overlapping & more direct running might draw a few more palace players out wide, leaving more of a gap in the middle.
Why not try Podolski on the right as well. He's coming inside from the left all the time anyway, at least on the other side he'd be in a position to get a shot off quickly instead of getting crowded out while he tries to work an angle on his left foot.
