He has for me at least unwaivering support and I will never clamour for him to be dropped. Senderos has a few good games followed by a few bad. He needs a consistent level of excellent performances to attain that backing Toure has. Similarly players like Flams, Cesc, RvP I will always get behind in bad form as they have been giving everything and playing well for a period of time. Others such as Gallas, Ade and Hleb won't because whilst taleneted they have not played their way into my heart as someone like Number 5.
he also has had no pressure on him to perform week in week out, by that imean he knows the position is his, perhaps if senderos had that he could relax an play his best football that we see we see more often than not. i know from my own experience(same position aswell, irelevant but hey) that when u are playing for your position you can overthink situations an make silly mistakes
Unfortunately, Senderos does not have the sort of time you are asking for. Toure produced at CB in the league straight away and that's why he is where he is.
Take a look at those games where Senderos doesn't do well and those that he does - and for a clue, just look at how many times his run in the 2006 campaign is mentioned in his defence on this forum.. How many English team did we play in that year?
Toure, while poor lately has plenty of money in his account. Senderos however is overdrawn.
I think toures account is rapidly declining. he's a great athlete first and a decent defender second. We need a commanding Center Back. Ive said it before and i'll say it again. We fucked up by letting woodgate join the dodgy part of london.

What is this an ex-centre back club? Also my favoured position. There was a situation a while ago where Senderos did have that faith from the boss, when he was keeping Campbell out of the team back in 05. Then Drogba mauled him in the charity shield at the beginning of the next season and he looked shaky all over again.

The dodgy part of London can keep Woodgate and his dodgy knees, hamstrings, and thighs. The guy in an injury liability. Fucking class defender but injury prone.

as smooth has said in the past, has henry not made carrager look like a *word censored* everytime they played against each other, some times you can find one person completely unplayable, dont make you shit (in carras cas it does) i have played against people that i am infinatly better than technicaly and reading of the game, but there physicality jus makes them incredibly hard to play against

So do I take it that you believe rvp and rosicky should be shipped out with haste ? I mean if you do not want injury liabilities at our club then they dont get much bigger than those two. In my opinion woodgate when fit is the best and most natural english defender going

Come on burnsy, you can only take this one so far...the point is, every credible team seems to find "one" player who can do Phil all ends up.

What I was alluding to is not that Senderos can't play Drogba, but that after that game his confidence went and he looked shaky against many more teams. For me I don't like the way Phil gets sucked in high up the field and then turned and left behind exposing whoever his partner is. I'd rather Kolo and Gallas as if they do get turned they can recover. Look at Richards from Man City, a player many on here advocate we should sign. He makes tons of mistakes but recovers well, something Phil just can't do. Due to his lack of pace. I don't hate him and don't think we should sell him. I just feel that he shouldn't be a first XI player.

from wat i can see arsenal play their defence the same way i did at my last club, one of the cb's (senderos) allways attcks the ball, the other cb sits back an acts as a sweeper, with the full back who is not on the side of the pitch that the ball is on doubleing up as the other cb and the winger siting at fullback. hope thats clear. with this system it is very hard to not get sucked in to the ball ala senderos, and is also exremely hard to get into its rythem on 1 1 game at a time basis.

Augie, come on, you are more intelligent than that. When we signed RvP and Rosicky were they injury liabilities? No, neither had had a long term injury before signing for us. My point is that why would we sign a player with such an injury track record? Real Madrid got fucked over big time doing that didn't they? Do you think if we did sell RvP and Rosicky we'd have a deluge of offers from high profile clubs?
Yes when fit I agree Woodgate is class, one of the few defenders I've seen keep Henry quite, but he is rarely fit.
