if we keep having such a terrible first half, it could be really difficult at Anfield. But I think we might get a draw.

I wouldn't put too much expectation on Ox - he was pretty pedestrian in 2012/2013 I love the kid and he looks slimmer n sharper but don't bank on him.

We should beat this lot, we are a better side but whether the tactics and leadership is there to have a go at them at get them a couple of goals down early doors I don't know.

To give Rodgers credit, he is dropping Gerrard when he can so he knows more than our Idiot.

I hope for a fast exciting game with plenty of chances, but I'm afraid we will show patience and quality again.

I still think us by the odd goal cos Bouldy Knows.

Sorry mate but even if we had our much vaunted virtual squad including Messi, Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic the "dizzying prices" charged by the club would still be too much

We need to keep this tight. They break with speed and skill and we're crap defending against teams that play that way. They've got pace, we haven't. However, we can control a tight midfield and their defence isn't good enough to keep us out over 90 minutes. For once slow tippy-tappy might be the order of the day. We have to get a result.

fuck knows what arsenal will turn up but we haven't played well for a while so maybe a big performance is due?

winning this game would set us up very very nicely indeed so we all know what that means..... :banghead:

I'm absolutely convinced that if we played with 2 strikers we would win by 3 or 4 goals cos their defence is utter shite. Playing with one up top will release their need to protect their back 4 to the level that they would against a better forward line. As everybody on here knows, I love BFG (in a purely footballing sense of course) but I do seriously worry about him being isolated 1 on 1 against the cannibal on saturday

Agreed. 4-4-2 would have more chance against the Mousers than 4-5-1. For all Giroud's hard work he isn't at a level where he is going to terrorize their defence and dominate them up there by himself. As for Mert, I think the Cannibal might well destroy him on Saturday... :| Mert has been superb this season but the Hound of Anfield is capable of doing to him and Kos what Dog-Breath used to do to Senderos for fun. :| :( Fingers crossed Mert destroys him but I have my doubts...

If Suarez plays like he did against west brom then we will have no problem.

Also I don't think we can play 4-4-2 with our available forwards, pod looked pretty poor against palace, maybe lack of first team action but not good enough to start imo.

We need 2 new strikers tbf.

You're aware that there is a difference between pessimism and moaning, right?

Did alright against him at the Emirates.

On second thought I am not worried about conceding, I am more worried about the pedestrian pace we have adopted in our last 5/6 games. Playing like that against a team with a midfield as mobile as Liverpool's, I'm not sure how we will take all 3 points.

Looking forward to this game. We have a pretty decent record at Anfield, we're top, only 3 defeats and best defensive record.
I think these so called experts in the media are underestimating us ( which aint a bad thing i s'pose), we 're a completely different animal to the teams of the past few years.

Gooners to win this one and with it another statement to those who doubt.

Not sure I agree, the foundation for our win over them at home was our complete control of the midfield, if we take one of them out, it would weaken us significantly.

Then of course there is the little matter of not having another striker :(
