Thoughts are with you lefty me old mucker. Would be a pleasure to serve you and a fully recovered Mrs Lefty a banger or two whilst dancing to the tunes of the Away Boyz at the summer BBQ.

Until then we'll try and keep you amused on here !

This is where it all unravels.

The sad thing is, of course, that it didn't have to be this way at all. I await the post match press conference with a pre-emptive anger brewing inside. :D

I'm confident, as I was before we played the Scummers. Our midfield pisses on theirs and they won't see enough of the ball. We'll get a draw at the least. It'll be the inferiority complex against the worst United side in twenty years that will be the downer

Rodgers will have no choice but to pick both Sturridge and Suarez and I expect Coutinho to play too. The game at our place showed what a complete mismatch it is in midfield and I for one can't wait to see Gerrard plodding around.

Although I have pretty much zero confidence in Wenger tactically this is one of the very rare occasions where I think we might well outmanoeuvre the opposition. We are easily good enough to pick them off as they commit too many men forward.

Just a case of ensuring we play the game plan from the off and don't start half asleep. Think this game is ours to lose.

Hate this game most of all...feel under pressure because of the plastic Pool fans that populate my in laws...we lose and they all have a go , we win and it doesn't matter..something else shiny will distract them..
Rodgers pisses me off, within the last two weeks he was proclaiming them as challengers, today they are out of it, win Saturday and I assume they will be back in it.
Their defence is a disaster and only very lenient refereeing has saved them from conceding loads of penalties. All things being equal we should beat them, but it doesn't work like that. Going for a draw, with us dominating early but letting them back into it. No volume on the TV , couldn't listen to Michael Owen wanking over them.

The nearer I get to the weekend the more fear I have over this fixture - in most departments we are way better than them but top quality strikers often make the difference in games like this and they have one whilst we have none :(
In a lot of ways they have more dilemmas going into this fixture than we have - they are at home and as such will be expected to attack us but can they afford to play cannibal, sturridge and coutinho whilst leaving an aging gerrard and a positionally naive horenduson to protect the back 4 ? Will rodgers play a back 3 against us again ? Extremely doubtful after the lambasting he got for doing it at the grove.

Unlike most of you, I didnt think that the ox was outstanding last sunday - he took his goals brilliantly and I love the injection of pace he brings, but some of his passes were sloppy last weekend and we cant afford that again on saturday. Of course it has to be said that he is only just back from injry and I think that it was only has 2nd start since opening game of the season so hopefully he will be tidier for that run out. I am a big arteta fan but if he is left isolated against coutinho then we may have problems

Fcuk it I'm going for 2-2

Take out their 2 strikers and I see a very average team

No fear on this one at all. Koscielny actually plays well against quick strikers like those two anyway

Defeat isn't coming

How does Skrtel get away with the amount of wrestling and jersey pulling he does in their box at set pieces? Seriously, he is worse for that shite than even Carragher was. :|

Our midfield is superior to theirs in every aspect but if the Cannibal is on form we could lose 3-0. Still, I have a good feeling today that we will in fact win 3-1.

This is what I cant understand - every tv channel showing premiership football has highlighted this c*nts behaviour from opposition corners and every ref would be aware of that, yet somehow he is still getting away with it  If I was a ref he would the guy I was watching on every set piece

Carragher was as bad in his day...I hate when defenders are defended by pundits in these cases. Our penalty against Southampton being an example. Mert was pulled by the shirt in the box, ref gave penalty..simple. But one presenter said it was controversial and pundits were throwing out the well worn cliche of "20 penalties a game if you give that"...Well its a foul, it's deliberate and if it's in the box then it's a penalty. Skertel against Cardiff was the worst this season, comfortable win for the Victims but on the back of constant fouling in their own box..

It's down to the referees to enforce it and start giving penalties on a far more regular basis (the one on bfg was the exception rather than the rule)

All the while they don't Skrtel (and many many others) will continue to do it because the more they restrict an opponents movement, the easier it is to stop them scoring, you can't really blame them for doing it.

Completely agree, but it comes down to the fact that the majority of PL referees have zero bottle. If its the home team, they usually show bias in their favour, and give the away team nothing. Skrtel could wrestle Giroud in the box, a yard from the ref, and he wouldnt give a penalty, as long as we have this standard of refereeing, nothing will be done about it.

Shirt pulling and diving and faking injury/ appealing for cards are a major dislike I have of todays game IMHO- and its SO easy to stop it- just have video evidence, and any fouls or cards for any of these not given in the game results in 2 match suspension afterwards. Would pretty much see to it within a month. So now we cant have a shirt taken off without a yellow card yet a number of top players succesfully con the poor ref and assistants weekly. Its cheating pure and simple.

How Andy Carrolls red card hasnt been immediately taken back after last weekend is beyond me, and (Going back a bit  ) that Ronaldo roll around holding his head when the ball hit his midrife (Wish it had been his bollox) wasnt resulting in a 10 match ban is beyond belief. Honestly (And please dont send father Ted after me) why Anelka is facing EIGHT MATCH BAN for being a dick with a gesture that barely anyone had even heard about thereby raising its profile to the world and his brother is driving me nuts whilst football with a number of players roll around in the mud :|

AND I really wish that Giroud would stop rolling about every time he is tackled- doesnt he realise that it gives every Gooner watching a heart attack :box: :box: :box:

COYG

As is often the case, the many pundits are wrong. If refs started giving penalties, the Skrtels of this world would soon be told to stop by their managers and such cheating would disappear.

I remember when the first challenge of every game was the centre half putting his studs through the calf of the striker. It doesn't happen now because refs were told to eradicate it.

What I despise are the managers who bemoan their striker being wrestled to the ground, but are happy to let their defenders do the same thing.
