As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not that I'm bothered. There shouldn't be Welsh teams in the English league as long as Wales has a national side (I know they only just count).
Maybe it is easier for me to say this, but I disagree with that - as a traditionalist, I want them to remain in the English league cos they have been in it as far back as my memory allows me to remember. I remember watching and being impressed with toshacks Swansea side that he took from the 4th division up to the 1st division in consecutive seasons (don't think any other club has ever done it ?). I also remember the ginger winger (Leighton james ?) being a great player back in the day. Actually when I am sitting here I am thinking that most of the positive welsh contributions have come from Swansea so maybe Cardiff should be fcuked out for bringing nothing except hooligans to the English leagues
Augie, glad you are forgetting two horrendous defeats for us in FA cups Wrexham 1992 (?) and Cardiff 1927 . I guess Rambos arrival from Cardiff makes them worthwhile too maybe
Yes Leighton James, he was really exciting, I think I remember seeing him play us against Burnley many moons ago
Im amazed someone really can call for Welsh Clubs to go from the league- its surely The Premier/ Championship, League 1 or 2, and not the ENGLISH one- what twaddle Its all bloody history and be proud of it. At the moment there are 3 in the league, including Newport. Wrexham just outside in the Skrill Premier. I enjoy them being in there.
I (unsurprisingly) don't see a problem with Welsh teams being in the league - it's hardly likely to proliferate and in fact the numbers will only decrease. Obviously Cardiff and Swansea have been in there for donkeys years and as far as I'm aware Newport and Colwyn Bay have got a lot of history in the English pyramid system.
Although the situation whereby Cardiff were able to play massive European CWC ties by playing reserve sides and winninmg the tinpot Welsh Cup whilst playing in the English leagues was a farce.

May increase with the mighty Wrexham 8 points off the play offs in the Conference Premier, having been in the league for many years before relegation in the mid 2000s, and Newport are just off the play offs in League 2, so conceivably 4 in the league again soon.

Fully agree re Cardiff CWC farce, but the 2nd 3rd and 4th Virtual cup winners in the PL being in the "Champions" league is only a bit better maybe
Could theoretically see 4 Welsh teams in the English league system but surely the objection has to be to teams playing within the English pyramid system and not just top 4 leagues?
In which case there are only 6 in total and they will certainly not admit any more. Colwyn Bay are a small club playing in the lower echelons and Merthyr, Newport and Wrexham have all been on the brink of financial ruin (as Swansea were about 15 years back and as Cardiff were threatening to be before villain Vincent Tan came along). Merthyr ground-shared with my club a few years back and it was a really shit level in the English non-leagues, worse than the second tier of Welsh football that we were playing in and not really financially viable for them. They only let them stay in the English system because it's historically where they've played. That's why I say the numbers in the English pyramid system will only decrease.

Arsenal, really?
Do you know what? I was going to say "ground-shared with us" but I thought some pedantic prick would come on and make the same wisecrack you've just made

I've seen some bizarre decisions this season but that must surely top the lot If they had of sacked him a week ago them maybe, just maybe, you would give them some slack on the decision, but to sack the man after a great result against manure and a narrow defeat by the victims is horrendous I have believed for a long time that they will be relegated but I did say last week that they made some good signings last month and at least gave themselves a chance - now I fear that chance has gone and I will be sorry to see west london's biggest club relegated
