Saw something similar myself but I think it had been converted to AUD so approx 130m pounds. Can't remember where I saw it either, but remember thinking 'yeah, right. This summer he'll spend big! ' :D
We have £120m cash in the bank according to the financial figures released last week. That is probably where the number came from. However we would never spend all of it and AW never comes close to spending what we have.
Why do you think that is? Afraid to put his reputation on the line? A better example of ''fear of failure'' than the one Wenger was talking about a few days ago.

As no doubt his reluctance to test himself at Real Madrid was. Conveniently dressed up as his loyalty to Arsenal of course
Absolutely - he can hide behind the fact that he hasn't spent large sums on individual players (bar Ozil) whilst conveniently ignoring the multi millions wasted in the £10m category who were not good enough.

Also if a rough diamond comes good there is the reflected glory that it was all down to Wenker, buying an established star doesn't give him any of the personal glory if they continue being a star act, hence why he buys no-bodies, players who have had injury issues, or those who have had a knock in their reputation and need a new challenge.

He recently said something along the lines that Kos and Szczesny he knew all along that they would come good - unfortunately along the way, we paid the price for developing them as players by losing trophies and points in the league. His "project" of player development is to the detriment of us as a club, although the increase of value of the likes of Clichy (see also Jenkinson) is justification to the board to allow him to continue unchallenged

I agree with all that mate.

Also, selling the likes of Clichy (and three other players) to Man City for extortionate prices, means that for me, Wenger's whole argument against them distorting the market is invalid. One you become a beneficiary of something surely you cannot still complain about it?

Ballbag chatting bollox again. We don't need another young striker. We have Sanogo and Campbell.
