means nothing at all, some players don't fit at a certain club, mata is prime example.Podolski is class, you don't need to be quick, you just need a footballing brain, berbatov is good example, looks lazy as fuck and is slow as fuck but you cant deny his quality in front of goal.Pod is our only finisher right nowdonaldo wrote:Ask youself this if Podolski was that good why was he bombed out of Bayern?
The truth is none of our strikers are any good.Sanogo wouldnt get within a 100 miles of an Arsenal game 10 years ago.It shows how bad our standards now are.Wonder what Wrighty and TH14 think watching this shower of shite
Lukas Podolski

Re: Lukas Podolski
Podolski doesn't have the hold-up play or movement to be a striker on his own. We have watched it a couple of times this year and he didn't cut it. He is also 28 years old and should know how to play this position, but doesn't. I am not saying that he is crap because his finishing is top drawer, but putting him up as that hold-up player wouldn't really work (and hasn't worked) in our system.augie wrote: To be fair don, that is an argument for a transfer window time - right here, right now podolski is our best striker by a country mile and that is all we can focus on now. The man is being under-used and abused by a manager that hasnt a scooby fcuking doo when it comes to tactics, formations or how to get the best out of players like podolski and meanwhile we are being treated to the talents of giroud and wakemeup and all for a measly £80 a game
I'd agree with the under-utilization portion. The man scores goals by arriving late in the box - he isn't a dribbler and when i have seen him, he has been tracking back, so I really don't understand why he isn't playing. When he plays, he scores - so again - I am baffled. If Wenger signs a new contract, he will go this summer, but if Wenger leaves, I would imagine that he will wait and see.

Where did it all go wrong?
The away game at Chelsea in 99 when we are 2-0 down with 15 to go, we finish the match with, Henry, Suker, Kanu and Overmars all up front.
Happy days![]()
Despite his tendency to run round in circles a lot, I always liked him as a player.

But yeah, I love him for that goal that night at Old Shatford in 02. Magical moment.

Re: Lukas Podolski
Podolski would do very well if we played him as a center forward...........which we don' t !
This being said he should still be preferred in front of the Postman (who may well come good but we havent seen much of him ) or Bendtner .
We must sell him though because it doesn't make any sense to pay a man 90 k a week and never use him !

Well it does make sense. I mean we bought park, pay him huge salary, MIA and he is probably in north korea now attending a tearful reunion with his familyHerd wrote:Podolski would do very well if we played him as a center forward...........which we don' t !

Wiltord was instrumental to our success, and enabled others to succeed.DB10GOONER wrote:remigardeshair wrote:'Wiltard' wasn't a typo was itDB10GOONER wrote:Yep. All true.
