Bergkamp statue

Thing is, it looks so cheap and out of keeping with a (bronze?) statue in tribute as well. I imagine when Dennis takes a shit in real life it's made of actual gold (ouch), or frankincense, with a faint whiff of unicorn fanny. Not as if he's being buggered to high-heaven by Johnny 5's pornstar brother.

Christ, this place really does turn you into a whinging bastard, doesn't it.

The club fucked this up (no surprise there) - Dennis should have been his volleying pose or the spuds celebration and they should of figured it out before deciding on TH14 who should have been him with the open side foot passing the ball into the net, or his turn n volley against united.

Stupid furburgers.

Brilliant. 8) Worst of all it looks more life-like that the original DB10 stature does (even down to the mobility, allegedly  )

On another note, the three players who have had statues all deserve them and although Herbert Chapman has one too, isn't it about time we had one from further back in the club's history? I'd like to see a Cliff Bastin or a George Armstrong one so that Wenger's era isn't the only one getting attention.
Personally think O'Leary as the clubs record appearance holder deserves one too ( I know, some have issues re his time as Leeds manager but his appearance record may stand forever) ( or certainly till Diaby is fit again) :D

Rightly or wrongly I don't know many clubs/fan groups who have as little affection towards their all-time record appearance holder as Arsenal. I would gladly predict that a huge chunk of our younger fans wouldn't be able to tell you our record appearance holder.

Perhaps as suggested it is an obsession with the Wenger era given that a huge number of fans will have grown up to great success of Wenger's first decade when our playing style and philosophy weren't exactly aligned with our previous success under the likes of Graham. I certainly think the club is making a bit more of an effort in the past few years to bring up our history than when we were successful (somewhat understandably).

If they do another statue, I would like to see one of Ted Drake.

Drake, bastin, rice , Brady, oleary, wright.

That's probably all that deserve them. Compton perhaps ?

Though some kind of memorial would be nice for Rocky.

I was fond of O'Leary when he was an Arsenal player - same with Alan Smith. I don't like it when either of these players get stick, but I can understand it for O'Leary.

Still would be happy for him to have a statue. But then, I'd like a Terracotta army type thing with countless ex-Arsenal players honored outside the ground. Would be unique in football... would show an appreciation for our payers throughout history... and would allow young fans to become familiar with players who played for us before they were born.

McLintock, Wright, Vieira all should get one.

Wenger will get one when he retires.

Don't think O'Leary should get one. Too many have lost respect for him and would not be appreciated by a good percentage of fans.

I think Geordie Armstrong would be more deserving of a statue before O'Leary!

Let me be the first to suggest GG get a tribute statue - the man is a Gooner through and through and served the club with distinction as a player and manager 8) :barscarf:

Chippy Brady should be an absolute automatic imo - alongside (the real) DB10 he is the best player ever to play for the club and having come through the academy and then served the club after retirement, he too deserves one 8)
