Orcs Away - March 1st.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Stoke constantly harassed City and didn't give them any time on the ball and it nearly worked. I'm hoping we can play a high tempo game and that Podolski plays up front with Giroud again, rather than tiki-ing it around midfield trying to work an opening.

He really cannot play Arteta WITH Flamony or Santi WITH Ozil, best show for a fair while last week and guess what, only Santi and Areta started. Coincidence maybe but many have been going on here about these seemingly ineffective combos for ages.

But Arteta and Flamini isn't an ineffective combo at all, the myth just continues to be perpetuated. We win more games, score more goals and concede fewer goals with those as a pairing, vs either alongside Jack Wilshere. That said, Wilshere's done better in recent games in the middle, so if he can become a bit more positionally aware then he can muddy the waters in that debate a bit. When Ramsey comes back he gets in every time anyway.

Agree, Jack Wilsheres been really good the last few weeks, slowly picked up through the season, and he almost always plays his bollox off

Thge stats may say different, but the Arteta Flamony combo just seems too pedestrian to me going foreward- with them both in thats really only 3 fast movers of the ball possible from midfield, and with Ozil in thats just 2 left as he is rather pedestrain at moving foreward as well. I know Gibbs (IF fit) and Sagna get up fast, but it just isnt enough- The only teams we need them in for would be strong attacking teams like Citeh Chavs (Possibly) and Liverpool- the rest cant defend easily at all with the midfield attack as above- add Ox Theo or Rambo and its no wonder we have done so well this season.

Against Sunderland we had TR7, Wilshere, Pod and Santi getting up there- with Giroud and the full backs that seemed to make a huge difference in our foreward play.

If shitty had taken their chances it would have been a more realistic score line. Need Poldi definitely to play as it's a game that we'll need to take our chances as the refs seem to ignore their rugby tactics in the penalty area.

I see we've got Mike Jones who everytime I've seen him, he's been soft as sh*te which could work in our favour but then again soft refs tend to be homers

Only Tottenham (29) have earned more points away from home than Arsenal (26) this season, but Spurs have played a game more.
Arsenal have lost one of their last 11 matches in the Premier League - a 5-1 defeat away to Liverpool on 2 February.
They have the best record in the league when facing opposition in the bottom half of the table - winning 13 of their 15 matches.
Arsene Wenger's side have gone on to win all 11 league games in which they have been leading at half-time. That's the best record in the division.
Mesut Ozil has created more chances for team-mates (73) than any other player in the top five European leagues this season.

Arsenal have only won once in their last seven visits to the Britannia Stadium in all competitions. That was a 3-1 victory in February 2010.

0-2, 0-3

Which is why I put "Although it is now coming to my attention it may be a joke"

But seriously though, if you read their posts on their forums they aren't too far off with this.
