Eez it coz I is BItter?
Re: Sol Campbell makes England captaincy race allegation
I find it sad that Sol has made these comments just to promote a book. I think his chances of becoming a manager in the EPL would now be severely affected as who is going to hire/ fire him without the possibility to be called a racist. Because if there is one thing guaranteed as a football manager at some point in your career you will get sacked.
So Sol, why weren't you chosen as captain of Arsenal after Tony Adams? He almost certainly can't play the race card there.
Sol's comments will probably have an impact on other black ex-players who are more than capable of turning their hand to managing a top English club. Ian Wright called it on R5L 606 on sunday, simply there were other players better at captaining a team than Sol. But his allegation is calling into question the integrity of the manager's he played under Hoddle, Keegan, Taylor, Sven, McClaren, Capello and at a certain level Wenger. Sven and Capello weren't institutionalised by the FA, and I'm sure they wouldn't accept being told by the FA who they could choose to be their captain, didn't capello leave because of the row over John Terry alleged racist remarks and the FA tried to impose the captaincy being stripped from him?
Sol, you were a great defender for clubs and country. You should be proud of that. Players both black and white respected you but your comments only seem to alienate you and do you a disservice. The FA have in the past been found out to be both institutionally racist and sexists but then again so were a majority of football clubs until the '70's. Things have changed and moved on. If in doubt listen to Viv Anderson and Brendon Batson.

Re: Sol Campbell makes England captaincy race allegation
Just listened to the interview. He is completely bonkers and is heading one of 2 ways. He's either gonna end up like Frank Bruno or David Icke!!
What he's effectively saying is that every manager in his time was a racist as presumably it was the manager who chose the captain.
Speechless
