Orcs Away - March 1st.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Charlie got banned. Stoke are upset about it because, and I paraphrase here: 'everybody else does it'

Just proves my point that the only reason 4th has felt like an achievement for many to celebrate is because of who it is we are beating to that spot. Would anyone give a toss if our glorious run of Virtual Trophies had involved edging out Everton, Villa and Southampton ?

Steveo I wouldn't call it an achievement, just enjoyment
All they want is top 4, and if it means us stopping them, I must say I love it.

I live in a town that's full of the wankers and don't get me wrong its pant wettingly funny seeing them build their hopes up EVERY year, telling me how THIS year will be the one where they catch us.....before their little pipe dream crashes and burns for another year

But once the laughs have stopped I realise that another season has been wasted and we've scraped above a team with around half our revenue by the odd point once more

Christ, lads. The two things aren't mutually exclusive. You can be happy to pip the scum to 4th and also be pissed off that it is the limit of the club's ambition. I know I am fucking delirious ANYTIME we get one over on the vermin (as it should be, because football is tribal) and I am also pissed off with Ivan, Wiggy and Arsene for having the limited ambition of getting 4th to ensure CL income. :|

Anyone that doesn't enjoy getting one up on the Vermin must have missed the entire 80's!! Because that's mostly all we had to celebrate!

For years champions league football was seen as crucial to our progression and development to being in the top bracket of european clubs, but now it is just perceived as a way to rake in more income that goes unused by the powers that be - maybe, just maybe, fans sometimes feel that beating/finishing above the scum was vital for a long time now but we have been above them for so long that we should even consider them as rivals anymore and should have higher aspirations now ? Some people feel that it will take finishing outside the top 4 to shake things up in the club and if finishing behind the scum is the result of that then so be it - granted I would never want to finish below the c*nts but finishing outside the top 4 wouldnt be the worst thing ever (as long as we aint playing thursday night football  ) and as there is a very small number of clubs that can finish above us, we have to consider the possibility that they will the ones to push us out.

Right now I am worried as I ever have been that they will finish above us this season - if we were to grab only 4 or 5 points from our next 4 games then that will be 4 or 5 points from a possible 15 (inc stoke game) and there is only 6 points between us now so who isnt scared that they wont be ahead of us by the full time in goodison park in a few weeks time ?

Take the Mickeys as an example - they backed Dalglish with millions signing absolute horse shit like Adam and they didn't make the top 4. Was that the end of their world? Did Suarez leave? Did the sun falll from the sky? Did we really show them who was boss in the transfer windows since then? They are level with us on points despite us regularly quailfying and them missing out. As said before many times, simply qualifying for the CL isn't enough to attract and retain the best anyway.....hello Cesc, Robin & Samir where are you? You need to have ambition to win the fucking thing and we simply do not have - not this owner, CEO or manager

This poll is extremely depressing- look at Question 19

http://www.arsenaltrust.org/resources/d ... lts-v5.pdf
Do you think it is more important that Arsenal qualify for the Champions League rather than win one or
both of the domestic cups (FA Cup/League Cup)?

Yes 71% No 16% No view 6%
How CAN you be answering that sort of question with no view :rubchin:

Both maybe a better 3rd answer, but 71% yes is a good reason why it wont change-

though a few other questions on there were complied with DD would be back in for a start (Q10)

Wasn't you an akb telling us off for doom mongering when your bus first rolled up!!! We knew you would turn!
Never an AKB I rocked up here in 2007 when everyone on here was dooming and glooming often without valid reason !
Most were at best part time Arsenal who felt their throbbing red memberships entitled them to go to 1 or 2 games a season and pick the team !
Unlike many I have held shares in the club and have had season tickets since 1974 and have the additional superfan credentials of having property near the ground and having first lived my days at number 54 Drayton Park during the London Fog which explains my denseness .

Not much has changed there but as the years have dragged on I feel almost bereived of the club i once knew ,from the ownership through down the chain to here !

And you are ?
