Everton FA Cup

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I only care about winning the league, the cups are just an interruption in the league games for me.

So although I always want The Arsenal to win, if we lose this I won't be bothered.

Anyhow if we won the FA Cup then Arsene will be offered a 4 year contract on 9 million a year

Lefty are you Arsene in disguise

It's been a long day (long fuckin year so far tbf :? ) but I don't get excited by the cups anymore, I know we need to win something but winning a cup would more let wenger off lightly if you ask me.

Don't worry Oppy, come the game I will be just as animated and excited as ever :barscarf:

I'm going to bed, dog tired

yeah, lets not be Up for the Cup - after all the 1979 Man United, 1987 Liverpool LC, 1993 Sheff Wed LC, 1994 ECWC, 1998 Newcastle, 2002 Chelsea finals were all were all shite to watch after all

Wembley has traditionally been the reward for the fans loyalty in supporting them all season home and away, in lean times, through rain and shine - although we no longer cut out the programme coupons to entitle us to a guaranteed ticket, I still see it that way.

How many mediocre seasons have been rescued by a trip to Villa Park or elsewhere in the hope of a Wembley appearance ?

It's part of the tradition of supporting The Arsenal because we are second only to United in Final Appearances, and which given the last 25 years they've had is still some fucking achievement.

anyone who thinks otherwise is probably a post 96 fan, and /or knows nothing about supporting The Arsenal.

The League might be our bread and butter, but the FA is our gravy.

This would be that part of the film where the mob would carry lefty to the place where he'd be judged and, after being found guilty, burned or something like that.

:D

I appreciate everyone is a bit frustrated at the moment but I can't understand this mentality.
as an Arsenal supporter if you only care about winning the league then you are going to have a miserable life.

I assume that you don't recall the GG cup winning era.

Agree with this 100%

Only a modern day football snob brought up on the Chumpions 4th placed League turns their nose up at the cups.

Unfortunately I think Wenker will get a new contract whether he wins the cup or not. ..lets face it he hasn't been under any pressure from the board to win anything before so I don't see why that will suddenly change.

Personally I'm looking forward to this game more then any other since the NLD. Don't normally like early kick offs but a win and all afternoon celebrating a trip to wembley ( providing i get tickets) on Holloway rd seems like a good way to spend a Saturday to me.. .cant wait.

Lads, I've met Lefty and can testify that he is not a post-1996 PL snob JCL. He's a proper Gooner. And he's entitled to his opinion.

Can I request a 48 hour ban if / when we lose this? either that or immunity from prosecution, a letter from the PSNI chief constable should suffice.

+1

wenger's absolute last last last chance
I am still ok for him to leave at the end of the season and I would say well done for your first 9 years in charge.
But if he doesnt get this team fired up for tomorrow he should be hounded out of the club.

his biggest game since the cup final in 2005 for me tomorrow

This is the oldest football competition in the whole world and the one and only competition for us that we can seriously win this year. In my opinion this competition should be respected and we should do absolutely everything to win it.

I'm going to flip seriously if we show similar performance like against Orcs and get kicked out from the competition. But again, how many fucking times we have seen how our team melts down in important matches...
