Rvp is showing the same lack of backbone that he showed on many occasions for us - he is typically dutch in that, when things are going well he is outstanding, but when the team needs someone to step up he is hiding away from the action

I think that's harsh... in fact, that's smply not the RVPI remember. Once he'd matured and put his injury problems behind him, I thought RVP was outstanding for us. And rather than hiding when the team needed him, I thought he was a strong character who enjoyed the responsibility of captaining us and rescued us on many occasions.

No complaints from me. Gutted he left.

I was gutted when he left too so my comments had nothing to do with his departure - the reality though, is that until he was made captain he never stood out on a consistant basis. The rumours were that he would never play unless he was 100% fit and that showed a distinct lack of character in my book. This season he hasn't been top dog at manure and we have seen performances befitting that of a sulk
