New contracts: BFG, Rosicky, Ramsey, Cazorla, Zelalem

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sagna is done, too slow and past it unfortunately. Won't be gutted to see him leave.

Now the issue I have is why Ramsey was offered a bumper new deal after a 4 month spell where although he played brilliantly it's conveniently ignored how utterly shite he was for 2 years prior to that. Not surprised at Wenger still rewarding players that have not proven their worth.

Great, so Bendtner doesn't get a new contract? Shambles. Wenger Out.

5 deals in under 6 years at the club for Ramsey. Years and years left to run each time it's been renewed, has he merited 4 improved deals since he's been here? No way.

Read recently in 1 of the papers( maybe the star cant remember)sagna allegedly looking for 3 yr deal £100k a week and a signing on fee of 6m,now tht seems a,bit steep but not sure how accurate the story is.

if Sagna goes you can bet your bottom dollar he wont be replaced and we will have jenko playing their as first choice.nothing against jenko but hes not up to speed yet, fingers crossed he does eventually make the grade as hes one of us :barscarf:

Am totally baffled by that too - each time I read a story about him renewing his contract I assumed it was just confirming the story published a while ago but it appears that I was wrong. I like ramsey and I really hope he makes it but I have to be honest and say that I am not sure if any type of organised tactical system would suit his talents - guess he is lucky that wenker has no tactical acumen and just lets his players roam where they like.
Anyway there is no player that is deserving of 5 improved contracts in the space of 6 years - it seems even crazier when you consider the fact that we offered him far more money than manure when he signed for us so he wasn't on a paupers wage even then

How exactly? Do you actually pay attention when watching this team because if you did you would see how he is a shadow of the player he used to be after the double leg breaks. He's lost a yard of pace and STILL can't cross worth a shit or beat his man. He's a defensive liability who gets skinned time and time again against pacey wingers, it's time to get over this romantic nostalgia induced image of him and move the fuck on. There are better RB's out there.

My point on Ramsey is valid.

look on the bright side - as he said "I think we've shown so far this season what we're all about and the direction that this club wants to go in.

"I want to be a part of that, and to be a part of something special at Arsenal."

he's talking about signing past 2017 - the end of Wengers new contract

I really like Sagna but I have to agree there will be better right backs out there especially at going forward (which with our system is vital), he cannot beat a man or deliver a decent ball anymore and you often see it going out to him when he has lots of space out wide yet most of the time he plays a pass inside and kills the attack down the right!

He doesn't want to stay mate, hence the crazy demands.

He's been here a long time, won nothing, and wants to end his career elsewhere. It's fair enough. Can't blame Sagna, can't blame Arsenal.
