As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Only been once, that I remember, mainly as they were relegated for a season or two when I regularly went to away matches..
Season 1990 /91 when we only lost 1 match all season and where was that, oh yes fucking Stamford Bridge
Seem to recall we were without Bould, shit game they scored, we huffed and puffed, they scored again and I said to my mates that I bet we score now they are 2-0 up and we did.
Those were the days when you had to go through a metal detector and the ground had barbed wire all over the fences. As opposed to Highbury with no fences at all.
Any matches more memorable than the 3-5 win a couple of years back ?
1999 - We went 2-0 down and came back to win 3-2 with Kanu scoring a hat-trick, scoring the winner from what was (back then in my mind) an impossible angle.
some utterley fucking horrible matches in the mid-late eighties, in front of terrible crowds there. one match that is quite memorable from recent memory was the 2003 fa cup quarter final replay. had the whole shed end, exceptional atmosphere
Invincibles season - went 1-0 down after about a minute but we turned it right round (helping hand from Sullivan). I hate it when teams have token player huddles (especially before the game) but ours after that game will always stand out for me.
Vieira's goal and the win in general summed up what that team was all about. He picks up the ball in our half with no apparent danger and 7 seconds later it's in the back of the net. Definitely one of my favourite Arsenal goals despite its simplicity. For a start the movement off the ball was sheer class - DB10 dropping deep into space, Pires dragging the CB across the pitch and creating the gap for Vieira to hare into like a gazelle (and also Henry having the presence of mind to stretch their defence and hold his wide position). Typical DB10 - technically very difficult pass made to look easy with absolute inch-perfect execution. And the composure from Vieira with the finish. Like I said, that was the Invincibles' attacking power summed up in 7 seconds.

pretty sure we had the whole of the Matthew Harding end?? Place was buzzing though!

A wonderful game that was, a lesson to those who leave early - my mate left with 15 minutes to go at 2-0 down
Remember the post match celebrations, Bergkamp, who was injured and didnt play, pretending to polish Kanu's boots in front of the away end.
The look of utter shock on the Chelsea fans faces was fantastic - This wasnt long after theyd beaten Man United 5-0 and I think I'm right in saying they hadnt conceded a goal at home before playing us, and we got three in 15 minutes
We finished up playing 4-2-4 Suker, Kanu, Henry and Overmars up front, oh to have that luxury now.

Was at that one. Think Bouldy played though as I think Hillier came on for him???
Could be wrong on that though...
I remember that season well mostly because of only losing one game and us playing some brilliant football (and NEVER getting credit for it). Also seem to recall that the one game we probably really should have lost was the Scum away as they had about 300 shots and Seamo played out of his skin.
I always say that Stamford Bridge is the stadium where I have enjoyed the best away days.
Winterburn in Sept 97 was a particular highlight
Silvinho's equaliser a couple of years later
Kanu's hat trick of course
The cup tie, and Lauren's clincher to make it 3-1 when we had the Matthew Harding lower tier - closely followed by some of the worst violence I have seen at a London match
The 1-1 in the first match we played against Cashley - a right laugh smuggling in fake bank notes and inflatable mobile phones into the away end. Stewards briefed to ask ' do you have any fake money or inflatables with you?' during the search outside.
The 5-3 win a few years ago
And a few other great days lost in the mists of time.

Dave Jones came to our school to do an assembly when he was manager of Cardiff years ago - really random but credit to the guy. I knew the teacher arranging it so I met Dave Jones afterwards, got him to sign one of those fake bank notes I had in my wallet and he had a right chuckle at it.
