My old man : "We still had a chance at 2-0......the ref killed the game" :D

He stopped short of singing There's Only One, but I'm sure it was on his lips !

My old man seems happy Wenger will sign a new contract as we're now able to spend money and compete. :|

Still, he provided the beer and snacks so I'll be polite

Why he thought starting Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain AND Cazorla today was a good idea is beyond me. I've been harsh on Flamini this season but surely he has to start games like today?

Despite the general defensive improvement in the team this year, we've been worse than we ever were 2008-12 in the big games. Wenger has sent us out like lambs to the slaughter at Anfield, Etihad and Stamford Bridge, absolutely eviscerated on all three occasions. The same way he happily sent us out at Old Trafford for years and years. Yet this season when we were playing well and they were rocking and it was the time to employ that approach given some of the teams that have outplayed them there this year, we tried to play for the 0-0 in both games and barely got near troubling de Gea in 180 mins.

It's so easy to say "I take responsibility" but he clearly doesn't believe it - never acknowledges that his pre-match preparation, general approach, team selection or tactics cost us, instead it's just vague nonsense about us not playing at the level we're capable of and shit like that. Not that success is achieved in the media room, it's facilitated by hard work and humility behind the scenes, on the training pitch and on the sidelines.

This team doesn't believe it can win these massive games. As terrible as our approach at Old Trafford was, we were also shrinking violets to a man. This will be the best season for fucking ages if we can win the FA Cup and we certainly should given the competition left in, but given our propensity to get our approach catastrophically wrong and go missing in big games I am seriously worried about the semi-final.

Leonardo equals another lazy pundit.

You can prepare a million times for a gunfight but if you take a f**king knife to it, then you are already f**ked.

That match was lost because of tactics and wrong personnel. No amount of practicing would ever change that. If Leonardo did the research he'd know we played the same rigid formation for all games. Another lazy :censored: on the beeb.

It's nothing new though is it, we all know that. Something a bit more than the obvious would be good. I just get bored with people being paid to tell me something my 11 yr old nephew figured out weeks ago...

That's my point

We commit 5 players ahead of the ball inside 10 mins of the game away from home.

I can't fathom a reason why you would do this against Chelsea.

We used to commit players in numbers because our attack so inept that the only way tippy tappy works without iniesta xavi and messi is to have numbers. Problem with this is you don't do it against Chelsea, city, Liverpool, utd.

This is damning of our organisation, damning of our defensive set up, players and of course the manager.

Any sense of game management, i.e making things tight early on? Usually we concede in big games in 40-45minute, when we lose concentration, this season just fold early on and hand over the points.

Arsene said in the BBC interview he is vastly experienced and the buck stops with him. So how can you justify your salary, or even worse a contract extension and pay rise. Incentive based rewards  , well it worked for our wonderful youth players right ??

Freak result. Should have been a goal up in the first few minutes. They scored with their first two shots. Then a stupid penalty. With a sending off. Wrong player too. No way back from 3-0. With a ten man team.

I'm just as gutted as everyone else. But let's get some perspective here.

one win against the top four in 14 games ?

last win against chelsea - November 2011 ?

all freak results ?

the losses to villa, norwich, swansea, blackburrn, bradford, birmingham, schalke, stoke.....all freak results ?

Well I was talking about the Chelsea game specifically. I didn't expect us to win there. But the fates conspired against us to produce a scoreline like that.

I also think the scorelines at City and Liverpool were very flattering to the opposition.

Not offering excuses for losing any of our games. We're just not good enough.

One absolute stuffing in a season and I could see 'luck' being blamed, but three indicates a pattern of behaviour that shows no signs of changing.
