THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Are you for fucking real?? I want to see us winning trophies, I don't care who is in charge.

What is the world coming to when so called gooners want us to fail. I much preferred being a gooner back in the day when most of our fanbase originated from NL rather than now when no doubt we have a band of JCL's on board.
Don't try and call me a plastic gooner mate! Living in North London doesn't make you any more of a gooner than myself or anyone else.

If losing the cup meant we finally get rid of him then I believe that is for the best as a new manager with fresh ideas could have us competing for the big boy trophys like the league and CL, as under Wenger we will never again.

I obviously want us to win the FA cup but if that means the contract extension then it will have come at a massive cost for the next few years where we will fail to properly compete yet again!
Listen son, don't come on here and start bleating about how you want us to lose games just so your stupid agenda can get satisfied. I am going to the semi final, will also hopefully be going to the final and am 100% behind the team regardless who is in charge.

Quite frankly, I cant imagine any gooner that spends their hard earned dosh on following their team wants this scenario.

And yes you come across as totally plastic, cant you take up curling or somat!
I myself am going to the semi final (and spending 200 odd quid to do so therefore your plastic comment is totally rubbish)

Regardless of the fa cup result Wenger will go when he wants anyway so of course I want us to win it.

I am just massively fed up with these humiliating defeats again and again and again that if a cup loss would be the final nail in his coffin then I would almost welcome it.

Either way I'm happy
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So ok you're not a plastic more like a mug. You are prepared to spend £200 to follow the team at wembley and you want them to lose!

Judging by the Herbert on the left has gloves on, I'm guessing they flew in from somewhere hot - India, Malaysia ?

That's the clubs dream fan now - buys a ticket, shirt for one game, doesn't care about the results, flys back home with lots of photos to brag about his day out to his brars, thus creating more dream fans.

I know that everyone's frustrated, but no need to abuse people. He has said that it is a win/win for him. I would add my name to that too.

If we win the FA Cup - I am happy, but if we lose and Wenger departs, I am equally as happy. If we win the FA Cup and Wenger signs a new contract - it will definitely take the gloss of the glory.

I think that is my main fear - that this scenario could happen. That Wenger will see beating up someone which we should comprehensively defeat (no matter who we face) and somehow this will validate his decision. It would end up being 3 more years of groundhog day football. At least I would save a few grand on season tickets....

If we lose and Wenger signs, the noose beckons ;-)

I'd love to know how the thousands who still defend Wenger actually square in their minds their deluded view of him with the fans of bitter rivals singing ''Arsene Wenger, we want you to stay''.

And that also applies to Thierry Henry and patronising ''be careful what you wish for'' crap he came out with not so long ago.

We have been taunted with this from both Chelsea and Spurs fans for a while now. Surely anyone still backing Wenger has to at least question why this is? Surely?!! :banghead:

Because that's what rival fans do? We sang the exact same thing at Harry Redknapp during the 5-2 game but I for one was glad when he left. Sort of posted about this in the 'How do losses affect you' thread but really why do people give a fuck what opposition fans think? It is irrelevant. Man up

Piss off with the 'man up' shit. I hate that fucking phrase!

In general terms I do not give a fuck what opposition fans think. But rival fans laughing at us and taking the piss is not irrelevant to me. Especially when, in my opinion, what they are taunting us with is in this instance completely valid.

Interesting that Arsenal have cancelled the pre match press conference for tomorrow.
Also all the players have been banned from social media.

Anything up?

It's funny that many fans (especially the sheep) will argue that we had to leave highbury for the long term good of our club, but at the same time many of them refuse to contemplate the theory that sacrificing one fa cup to get rid of wenker might also be better for the long term future of the club  Highbury was our home for a long long time and leaving it was a real wrench for thousands of Gooners but most accepted that the club had to move to a new stadium (although I'm not sure now, that it was the right decision) and losing the fa cup would cause a lot of short term pain but not as much pain as another 3 years with le cock in charge

Personally I'm not prepared to say that I want us to lose because I don't think that it will matter a jot to those running our club. The thing that might drive the wenker out would be a widespread fan backlash against the man although, judging by the 2 c*nts holding that "arsene we trust banner" yesterday, it would probably take an fa cup capitulation to force the backlash. It is for that reason that I would be willing to sacrifice the cup but that does not equate to wanting us to lose.

Btw nut flush, you can fcuk right off with your NL bullshit too - do you want the club to revert to only playing London born or English born players too ? You are supporting a big club that has worldwide support and if that doesn't sit well with you then I suggest you start supporting some two bob local parochial outfit instead. I can only speak for the Irish Gooners, but there are a load of them that spend a fortune travelling over to games every fcuking season so while you might be able to step outside your front door and be at the ground, it doesn't make you any more of a Gooner than those that commit time and money to travel from outside north london :x

Btw, scotgooner should take up curling or somat ? Last I checked "somat" is more a manc phrase than a London phrase isn't it ?
