THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

After Birmingham this lot are a busted flush, so whether it be the semi or the mother of all blow outs in the final under special circumstances we will fcuk it up. :banghead:
You could be right, Rodders. Sure, we should win it. But then any half decent manager can set up his team to counter our limited tippy tappy football and nick a one-nil. I would be devestated if Wigan beat us or we lose in the final, but neither result would surprise me.... :|

Just got an email from BSM about some boat party. Had a quick glance on their website and absolutely nothing on there re the single-biggest issue facing the club: the manager. They haven't just got splinters from sitting on the fence, they've got a fencepost embedded deep in their colon. They'll have to make sure there's enough space for the elephant to fit in the room next time they ask to meet with Gazidis or whoever.

After we beat Everton and City lost at home to Wigan I was more buzzing than I can remember at any time in the past few years, certainly since the first 5-2 against the Scum. After last night I feel dreadful - our club is facing a huge crossroads and seeing as they haven't got the stones to make the right decision we are reliant on a turkey voting for Christmas and the egotistical Wenger to admit he has been talking shit and doing shit for years and to turn down the chance to trousers probably 25 mil over the next 3 years. If he signs it will wipe the next 3 years of this football club out and I can't imagine how it will feel if that happens. I didn't comment on the poll on the other thread because winning trophies isn't comparable with anything else and I'm desperate for some silverware after all these years. But would the pain of losing the FA Cup final or the pain of Wenger announcing a new deal be worse? The latter for me, by a long long long way. I love football and I love this club and I can't face knowing we are in for the same shit over the next 3 years with no way out.

it is about time that the BSM started to say that Wenger should go.

they are becoming as spineless an organisation as the rest of the supporters groups.

Wenger out: all other priorities rescinded. That's what my head tells me.

Except I can't want us to lose the FA Cup just to get rid of Wenger. Thankfully, I don't think the two are inextricably linked as it's our league form that'll ultimately decide for Wenger if he stays or finally goes.

I just wish someone from the board would fucking pipe up and say the shit on a stick Wenger's serving up right now is completely unacceptable.

Still, we have more chance of us winning the league than that though.

Yeah, won't happen will it? The common denominator with all these groups is the world's largest herd of white elephants cramming into the World's samllest room.

"Wah, wah, wah it's the board..."

"Wah, wah, wah it's the players....."

"Wah, wah, fucking wah it's financial doping..."

Lets face it, Stew Robson is nothing but a bitter old fool - he is no Gooner!

Last night was really tough, on the one hand you have to admit that the players we are missing is killing us - that is a fact. What i will of course agree with is that Ramsey, Walcott and Wilshere getting injured is no surprise based on past seasons – and Walcott and Ramsey were injured before the Window shut – he refused to strengthen and its costing us now.

I honestly think there is a good chance he might leave at the end of the season, if he does I hope it’s in a season where he wins the FA Cup – but Everton are 6 behind with a game in hand and a game against us at their place – we are not in great shape to play City this weekend followed by Everton away and fourth is going to be a bit of a battle now - madness given how strong we were a month or so back. 1 goal in the first half in our last 8 home league games, its just worrying that every year we seem to run out of steam around this time and we have so many players out.

I thought Kim looked very tidy too, would not mind seeing him come into the side on Saturday, It wont happen, but given that Sagna hasn’t been great in the last couple of games id be tempted to switch him to CB next to Per and Jenko at Right Back – I think Bacary actually has a future at CB to be honest and has always done well next to Per.

just because I was so fed up I put a couple of quid on Wenger to be the next premier league manager to leave over the weekend at odds of 66/1.

Anyway just checked what he is now and Ladbrokes are only offering 14/1!

We were playing Swansea. At home. No excuses will wash.

"he refused to strengthen and its costing us now." This is bang on but for how many years has this been allowed to continue, since '08?

Tired of reading the vitriol you ingrates who don't haven't worked a day in football, much more 30 years, spout at our ingenious lord and master.

The bastards you all are, you had to hound the head fucking sheep/cult leader adjutant/our modern day version of Squealer from Animal Farm off here. Now who do we have to put a spin on our dire situation and paint a rosy outlook going forward?

Time Steve_I came home and posted more of his articulately written drivel. :D

Wasn't questioning that. I wouldn't dare.

Articulated his views well, even though I didn't agree with them. Hence the bit about drivel.

So the new AKB argument seems to be that the bad results are completely the players faults, and Wenger is in no way to blame.

Don't get me wrong, the players have been completely dogshit recently and should be ashamed of themselves, but how are these people forgetting who it was that brought them in the first place, set's them up all wrong and is afraid to kick them up the arse when they aren't performing, like Mourinho or Ferguson would do?

I just wonder if Wenger had joined in 2007, how many of those people would be calling for his head? When we get a fucking mauling on Saturday because we overcommit players gong forward get give the ball away in midfield countless times I suppose the blame will solely be at the players feet, and Wenger will get away scott free for sitting on his arse doing sod all again
