In 1986 the club was dying after years of mismanagement by Neill and Howe.If you had said we would have won two titles one which we lost just one game the men in white coats would have taken you away in a straight jacket.A good manager can make a big difference

We need a manager who doesnt indoctrinate the players into thinking 4th is a trophy.A manager who has some tactics.A manager who will not be afraid to have a clearout.Do you think Graham would have put up with Diaby Bendtner Frimpong Santos and Giroud .A manager who will sack all the medical team.

My choice would be Klopp but he will be Man Utd's manager next season
TBH Don (and I'm a GG fan) he well might have. Let's not forget McGolderick, Hillier, Selley, Jenson, Lyderson and the late signings of Kiwomya and Soul Glow Helder.

Obviously he wouldn't pay them as much though... :D
Totally agree DB they were shit players but my examples wernt just shit players they were Diaby 5 games in 4 years Bendtner on loan for 2 years still at the club Frimpong 3 loans and still came back,Santos 2 stone ovewrweight and Giroud out shagging on the morning of a game

i am sick of hearing about this argument which I am sure is being spun by Arsenal - look at what happened to United when Fergie left

surely the response is - but what about what has happened at Liverpool and Everton?
it is bad enough what is happening at Liverpool but if Everton WITH A NEW MANAGER finish above us this season with half of our budget that is a damning indictment of not only Wenger but the club as a whole.

I would take Klopp in a heart beat.

Klopp know's how to built a terrifyingly attacking team who are solid too (remember when we were like that). I also think a couple of Dortmund players will want the chance to work with him at Arsenal - Rues being one of them, Gündoğan another. I think he will get the best out of Ozil, play Gnabry more (German core).

I would also love Jupp Heynckes

Prime reason:

The way he coached that Bayern team is nothing short than genius.

Martinez - I'm just not sure on him. Got Everton playing very well but, Moyes did at times too.

I'd disagree to a certain extent, mate. Moyes got Everton to get results but he never got them playing well. Everton under Moyes were grinders. Under Martinez they are actually trying to play attractive passing (but effective) football. Not saying Martinez would be a success with us but I'd try him right now tbh. And I mean right now, this minute. :|

I've only known an Arsenal under Wenger so it would be the end of the world for me if he were to leave us.

There were times I feared us going to Everton. They had a it in them to bound forward, get a couple of goals and then grind it out. Cahill, Arteta, Fellaini, Saha, all player rather well. At some point Jagielka and Distan has a good partnership and Howard has never been awful. I do agree they were grinders more than a prolific football team however, let us not forget that some of Moyes' teams did achieve decent things such as an FA Cup final, CL one year and very respectable league finishes. It was, however a one season good, two or three bad for Everton under Moyes.

I do like the style of play Martinez has got Everton playing and it does beg the question, what would he do with better players at his disposal - no disrespect to Everton. Would Martinez command the respect of big egos/players?

Well, one thing is that he has actually won a couple of trophies, which is more than most of our shower of players have ever managed.

Why do so many people want Klopp? How is he any different to Wenger? Had a great first few years at Dortmund but every year his best players leave, management of contracts is very poor (Sahin and Lewandowski both leaving on a free), poor injury record (Gundogan, Bender & Hummels have missed most of the season) and absolutely miles off the pace last season and this (admittedly to a great Bayern team).

Ok they put in a great performance in the first leg against Madrid last year (let's not forget they almost blew it in the second leg) but overall his Champions League record isn't great - out in the Group stage in 11/12 and can't see them getting past the quarters this time.

Not convinced by van Basten - what's he ever done as a manager? and not sure about Löw either; no record at a major club and hasn't actually won anything at international level, although he does play good football.

I'm not saying there isn't a better manager out there, just not convinced by these options.

If Wenger went now - i wouldn't mind George Graham back til the end of the season (ducks...)

he'd shore us up, and win the Cup.

Seriously I'm not old enough to remember an Arsenal without Wenger. Wenger has become a huge part of my life.

With the league title out of Real Madrid's reach I think Ancelotti could be headed for the sack at the end of this season. Unless of course he wins the Champions League.

Are you having a laff ?? You are comparing klopps achievements with wenkers ? Are you comparing klopps resources to wenkers too ? Are you comparing the statures of both clubs ? Dortmund sell cos they have to (gotze buy out clause & lewandowski on a bosman) where as we sell cos we aint got the balls to stand up to players like the little lesbo and rvp  Let me also remind you that continental clubs work differently than english clubs - in mainland europe managers dont have control of contracts, transfer offers etc but in AFC we allow le cock total control on all matters football and (some that are not ) so if players contracts are not in order then the blame lies above klopp

so assuming that Klopp took over , would you give him control of contract negotiations or adopt the continental system and leave it to Gazidis , Law and Fox
