Fair points and if you offered me Klopp or no change I would take Klopp right now. Still think he has a fair amount to prove though.augie wrote:
But if we had the wenker of the first 5-6 seasons we wouldnt be looking for a new managerCompare klopp to what wenker has become and then tell me whether he would be an upgrade on the senile old french c*nt
Secondly, wenker took over a team where half of them had won 2 league medals and it also included the best player ever to play for the club (Bergkamp) and vastly experienced platt - it is a lot easier to get a great team together when you only need to add 3 or 4 pieces to it.

Re: A Post-Wenger World
I love what AW did for my club. I think he is a true Arsenal Legend and also the single biggest influence on the Premiership since it started.
I now think it is time for him to move on as his influence in the dressing room has been eclipsed by his influence in the boardroom.
I'd take Klopp if he was interested but would also like to see Van Basten and Bergkamp.

Agreed. I'll never understand the hatred for Wenger. How can you hate someone that has given you so much? Don't get me wrong, I want him gone more than I've ever wanted any Arsenal manager gone, but I'll always love and respect him for what he achieved between 1997 and 2006 (maybe even as far as 2008). Hate is such a powerful emotion. The thing is, Wenger's is trying his best, but there is no one in authority at the club to tell him he is getting it very wrong. He has a free hand. His self belief and confidence - the things that made him successful between 1997 and 2006 - are now the things that are making him fail.SPUDMASHER wrote:I love what AW did for my club. In an ideal world I'd love it if he wins the FA Cup and retires on a reasonable high. But tbh I think if he wins the FA Cup he'll feel he was right all along and will stay for the next 250 years...

I dont understand why MVB is viewed as a good candidate at all?
Average results for Holland with a team that probably should have done better, not even CL qualification with Ajax, and now at European giants Heerenveen. what exactly has he done to warrant even being mentioned?

Re: A Post-Wenger World
There has been these comments like "watch out what you're wishing for" about changing the manager. ManU example is being thrown into air most of the time.
There is a little bit truth there. Red nose basically chose the new manager for ManU and they got into deep shit. That's why Arsenal has to make sure that Wenger's hands are kept far away from any future decisions about possible new manager. I don't know if the board is any better to make any kind of decisions but what is certain is that Wenger should be kept out from those decisions. If Wenger takes part in any way, we can be absolutely sure that "watch out what you're wishing for" will become reality... His ego will never accept the fact that better manager would step in...

Re: A Post-Wenger World
My picks for a Wenger alternative -
1. Tony Pulis - We can finally out-Orc the Orcs. No more getting closed down in own half because the ball will constantly be in the air. Finally, I mean FINALLY, we can beat Stoke at their place.
2. Sam Allardyce - Look the man said that he could manage Real Madrid, surely that means that he could manage us -or maybe we aren't a big enough club. He could bring in some of the old Bolton greats that have served him well like Kevin Nolan. Again, the ball would constantly be in the air, but we may finally be a threat from set pieces.
3. Alan Pardew - We would still be in for a lot of French League Ligue1 players, so our French contingent would feel right at home still. Can be a bit of a loose cannon with opposing players and managers which can be good from an intimidation factor as who knows when he might pull out a lead pipe and lamp someone. For pantomime purposes, I think that this could be a good thing.

I agree, it needs to be a boardroom decision not the ex manager who can't cut it any longer. He would hate to be surpassed and this may be why he refused to buy any player of note in the Jan transfer window to strengthen our team which desperately needed it.
Liverpool appear to have got it right with Rogers, Everton with Martinez should they have been careful what they wished for ?
As already stated we have a spineless board who have given Wenker carte blanche to run the whole fucking club, not just his job of first team coach / manager.
