That was a proper Arsenal of a performance from Bayern. Thought they'd won just by turning up, nowhere near enough incision, pace or intensity, scary defending and by the end they were just pinging balls into the box from anywhere. 1-1 is objectively a good first leg result for the away team but Bayern
Can you imagine if in the World Cup a Uruguayan defender feigns a head injury to get Rooney booked before Suarez gets Steven Gerrard sent off with a massive swan dive? The country would go into meltdown. Equivalent happens tonight and nobody bats an eyelid!

It was all just so...

Re: CL Matches 1-2 April
In between bouts of sickness I watched the ath madrid v barca game last night and tbh I was disappointed
Ath Madrid gave away so many cheap petty, and sometimes late dirty fouls, that I seriously lost count and I dont think that they needed to do it. Their attitude, for me at least, resembled that of a small underdog team that believed that the only way that they could live with barca was to kick lumps out of them and tbf they did that job excellently
Watching barca last night reminded me of us in recent seasons.....lots of possession but little or no creativity. Barca largely dominated possession but athletico created all the best chances and david villa could have bagged a brace. The exception for barca last night was iniesta - the guy floated all around the place and athletico had no answer to him at all.
Overall I think that the 1-1 draw was a good result for athletico - when it looked like there was gonna be no goals, I thought that it would suit barca cos they will score away from home but now they will need two goals and the second leg is set up nicely

I generally find Spanish football incredibly tedious. I can't even tune into El Clasico, despite there being a high chance of controversy and goals galore. The four matches between Barca and Atletico this season have been 1-1, 0-0, 0-0 and 1-1. Riveting.

Who else could see Bayern bottling under the pressure of their fans next week? I was sceptical of all the claims that they would cruise to victory and Guardiola already appears rattled.

Last el classic was great. It does depend, I think when Jose was their the dramatics was turned up and at times it was a farce. Atletico are a defensive side, and quite a good one. That's how you play away at the nou camp.northbank123 wrote:I generally find Spanish football incredibly tedious. I think Pep's idea of playing without a striker + obsessive passing combined with a very defensive Moyes team meant last night's match was a borefest.
I don't think Bayern cope very well with pressure, remember when we beat them 2-0, they were bricking it, they were complacent against City and lost, so who knows. At least I know utd are too rubbish to win the thing, if they somehow make it through, Chelsea on the other hand....
need a bad result tonight.. Hopefully Blanc isn't silly enough to go all guns blazing against Chelsea, who want good teams to come on to them, so hopefully they are a bit cautious...
producing a wonderfully exciting game.

Psg 1-0 up
Re: CL Matches 1-2 April
Blaise Matuidi, another one that Wenger's obsessed with, endlessly losing possession in midfield.

Maureen playing with no strikers. What a boring c unt he is. I fucking hate him.
