Toffees (A) - Top 4 Trophy, Six Pointer Match Thread

Not sure about this one tbh. Heart is saying 3-1 to us but head is saying 1-1 with them nicking a late late equaliser from either an unforced Calamity Chesney fuck up or a Flamoney brainfart... :|

One thing I do know for a fact; both Sagna and Gibbs will attempt 30 crosses each and one of them (probably Sagna) will actually get one (maybe two) past the leg of the first defender.

3-0 To the toffees, but they have a harder run in and we will scrape 4th, the draw with Citeh, could prove decisive.

2 -2 With an equalising goal coming in the dying moments....just like when we played them at ours...and they played us off the pitch for much of the game.

also: I think Martinez wuld make a great replacement for Inspector Clueless.

Going for the draw also, think a draw would be enough to secure the glorious VT..as Everton probably have a harder run in (well City )..
Used to have a soft spot for Everton in the 80s because they broke the Victim's monopoly..but were denied a shot at the then European Cup because of their lovely neighbours.

Martinez is a good manager, always thought he should be in the frame as a replacement for the deluded one.

I think we can get something up there so at the very least I would expect a draw. I actually think we'll do enough to sneak it though 1-2 to the Arsenal. :barscarf:

If we win this one then it gives us momentum for the Cup + we've got an easy run in while Liverpool are still to play Chelsea &Man City and Everton play Man City & Man Utd.

Win this and I'll be a stress-free happy bunny (apart from the cup games)

I'm at a loss to see how any fucker on here could possibly believe that we are going to win this :?
1. We are shite away from home against any decent standard of opposition
2. Wenger is tactically inferior to Martinez
3. Everton will be up for it, we won't.

I don't think we'll win but Everton are miles off the other 3 in terms of ability and also lack the clinical aspect. This season at us they played at pretty much their absolute maximum level on a great run of form and tactically trumped us - yet they had barely any chances and nearly lost the game. Their record against us is not fantastic, even up there we don't get beat that often.

I remember after that game there were a number of posters who were claiming that Everton were a genuine title threat which was unbelievably short-sighted. I rate Martinez and would be happy to see him as in charge at Arsenal but imo Everton are better than but not fundamentally different to previous years (yet). They'll have a few good runs of form throughout the year where everyone sings their praises and then when they go on a poor run they're forgotten about - until their next good run of form where suddenly everyone remembers how great they are.

They have also been very fortunate in a few games recently, although as I said credit to Martinez as he has a fresh and creative approach and his teams do tend to put together some good form around this time.

I just hope we don't get anyone injured for the much more important proper cup. All of the remaining PL games are now utterly pointless, now the league has gone

If he means our hopes of winning the title then they aren't "over", because they never existed to begin with

Not having a pop at you here, mate - but how many times have you said that to yourself over the last 8 or so seasons? :|

It's over. Was over before it began. All because one man cannot admit to his own failings and cannot be pragmatic enough to address those failings every summer and every January every season. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. :(
