Re: What is the matter with you ?! .................
I agree with what you have just said, it's a pity your first post was so stupid and thoughtless.Kipmonster wrote:I have been a passionate fan for 35 years & always will be but that doesn't we have to blindly accept everything without protest. A fantastic opportunity has been allowed to slip by the club this season simply because the manager wouldn't spend money & add strong experience to the squad which was clearly missing. Ridiculously an excellent player Diarra was allowed to leave without being replaced when the squad was already threadbare.
Moving to the Emirates was meant to allow the club to compete financially at the top level but we are not doing so. Why bother moving from Highbury then ?!
Fans pay a fortune to be entitled to show disenchantment.
To be a loyal fan doesn't mean you have to be a nodding dog !

The nodding dog analogy is a good and interesting one.
If we turn up against Reading and make a cracking atmosphere, for a lunchtime kick off against a poor side with little to play for what a great advert that would be for the club. Not very nodding dog - if you like, it can be you saying 'we might have fucked up royally but I'm still here cheering the boys on because they're Arsenal, and I love Arsenal, and will always support them.'
If you're one of those that thinks the players don't try hard enough, turn up and sing and show an example of what it means to be Arsenal. To put everything into your support - and try and transmit that to the pitch.
Your idea of effectively withdrawing your support for 30 minutes of a game is ridiculous, and does a disservice to the loyal fans of the club.
Criticise by all means, but not in this way.

Mate, I feel your frustration, but I have to say....what you're suggesting by boycotting the first 30mins of the Reading game...is, in my opinion, a terrible idea.Kipmonster wrote:I have been a passionate fan for 35 years & always will be but that doesn't we have to blindly accept everything without protest. The players have worked their socks off for us this season, and I'm very very proud of every last one of them.
You're right that moving to the Emirates was supposed to free up some cash...but I think that's the long term plan. We are, like it or not, heavily in debt. Yes, its under control, but the noises from Arsene Wenger recently seem to be that although money is available...we cannot pay top dollar....yet.
Give it time mate. Its a frustrating time for all of us...but please just try and give your full backing to the Arsenal players on Saturday...as they truely deserve it

oh, and read this thread/ watch the video if you want to know how best to support your team:

late
There is no reason to arrive late - like TS said, they already have our money and it will just make us as fans look like we don't support our team just because they haven't won anything this season.
Surely this is MORE of a reason to be there and sing our hearts out. Remember, some teams and their fans dream of ending up in the position we will finish in.
Of course this is disappointing for us but we just have to look forward to next season instead with our glasses half full.....

Huh?
What exactly would we be protesting against?!
Letting Diarra go? He wanted to go and said so. Why would we cling on to a player who didn't want to to play for us? Was he even that good? He then went on to say Portsmouth was just a stop-gap for him. Not the kind of player we'd want really. Arsene believed our squad was good enough. It's not as simple as going to the players and saying "you, you and you aren't good enough so clear off" and then going out and buying better players. There are undoubtedly better players out there than some of the ones we have but where's the guarantee they'd want to sign for us. The right player has to be available for the right price at the right time. This is reality, not some f**king ProEvo Master League game. There can only be one winner in each competition and this season United will deservedly take the league title because the table doesn't lie. Had we not had horrendsous, unforeseeable injuries things would have been different but what exactly is it that we all have a God-given right to expect just because we pay to watch Arsenal. The choice is clear: if you don't want to watch them then don't come. Because plenty of others so and you won't be missed.
Protest?! What a joke!

I'm gutted that our season is over and we are again without silverware but this is no time to protest
I am taking my two 8 year old sons, Chaz & Gee to this match and this will be there first Arsenal match, I want this one to live long in their memories due to the atmosphere and not because the stadium is empty for the first 30 minutes.
Scrap your protest and please sing loud and proudfor our team
