Cazorla Interview

If Cazorla stops playing like a wanker and starts putting a shift in, we might end our trophy drought this season.

Carzola is a quality player but a luxury one too like Ozil and is limited to being only truly effective when he's in the middle ,play him on the left and he's a disaster,on the right less but not his best position .
He like many Arsenal midfielders dont support the defence when out of possession which is why we are getting continually hammered away from home.

I like Cazorla but he's got some audacity, hasn't he?

I just find the whole threatening to join a more ambitious club if we don't win titles to be funny: what elite team is really going to want a 31 year old Cazorla?

He's already declining physically and he doesn't turn up in the big games - I don't really see Madrid, City, Chelsea, Munich, Barca, etc. coveting his signature now, let alone in a few years.

Pipe down Santi and sort your form out - been sh*t all season barring January.

Wonga has turned the team from being big, powerful and fast to little nippy guys who are 'technical' and have no stomach for a fight. Guess what......big, powerful and fast are what has won the premier league for the last 20 years!

Wonga just plays too many people out of position, always. I can't remember when we DIDN'T play central midfielders out wide (or even shit strikers in Barry Benders case)!! Rather than sign players for positions, Wonga has to sign either 'utility' players who are average in several positions, or just play people where they are ineffective.
I've had more than enough of this shit and am dying for Wigan to stuff us 3-0 at the weekend.

He makes some points that we all know but I have to admit there ie a feeling of, when have you turned up on a big game Carzola ?

He has filled the team with technically good players(Ozil,Rambo,Jack,The Ox,TR7,Zelalem,Cazorla,) but they are all not physically strong enough in midfield to withstand a proper battle. That is where the problem starts and ends.

Is BFG a bad defender....No just one who has his strengths and limitations. The team sets up against the big boys to expose his limitations. Same goes with our Fb's who get no protection whatsoever. Our goalkeeper is a 7/10 goalie, every team challenging has an 8/10 goalie but with a 7/10 goalie challenging...except Everton and they were punished by us in the FA cup because of it. We have a 6/10 challenging and some bloke whom is a an unknown to all but his mum.
The only problem I have with this interview is the F**KING TIMING.

Big game in 2 days this interview should have been done end of the season. Idiot.

Problem he has now is , come Saturday if he even looks like he's not giving it everything and he gives the ball away in dangerous areas as per, then the crowd will be on him.

When's Wenger ever let us down lads? Don't you worry about Cazorla......we'll already be working night and day scouting all the top talent from Le Havre to Montpellier, via Lille and Auxerre

That's not fair or accurate, SteveO.

It's a world cup year. Arsene will be very busy with his punditry commitments. He will appoint some underling to pursue the talent at Le Havre, Montpellier, Lille and Auxerre. 8)

'scouting top talent from Lille' - like watching Eden Hazard and signing Gervinho instead? :banghead: :banghead:

Can understand his frustrations, we all feel the same, but why go to the media? Why not go to the manager :D (just read that back and yeah it would be pointless) or register on the Online Gooner and vent his anger under a pseudonym
Think Cazorla has got this badly wrong..he is suffering at times because of the Wenger curse of playing quality players out of position , for example at times against City in the centre of the pitch he was excellent, but at Chelsea he didn't look bothered at times. I remember one ball played out to him when he game was effectively over , he waited for the ball and Ivanovic had the easiest of interceptions. Players need to do it on the pitch primarily, then address their problems in training. He is right in what he says but wrong in how he says it.

We don't know when this interview has been made and how it has been edited. It's really hard to judge it's timing etc. It might be equally so that the newspaper decided to put it out now rather than Cazorla timing it...

Lol at people getting worked up over this. Comments paraphrased, edited and selected to wind up as many Gooners as possible. And you wonder why they celebrate so much when they score against us.

We have a team of slow track bullies. But Cazorla is the worst in two seasons he has failed to turn up for any big games away from home.
He is not a Fabregsa or RVP.What big club would want him?

I would not include Ramsey or The Ox as players who were physically weak.

This earlier thread whether to sell Cazorla seemed to come out strongly against.

Wonder if the results would be different now?

I think he is a very good number 10, but loses a lot of effectiveness when played wide.

which is all the more bizarre as he spent most of his career prior to Arsenal playing out wide. I'm of the opinion that you can't / don't need Cazorla and Ozil in the same team together, would rather have quicker players out wide.

He accepts that he is as much to blame for us bottling the title as any other player, he also says we need quality players. All good points I agree with. I don't mind players saying this stuff and don't care when they say it. Its only what we are all saying. He accepts his responsibility in our fuck up by quoting 'we' and not 'them'.

Love Santi, want him to stay, play in his best position and get some players in who will add real quality and a winning mentality. None of these teen 'next messi' types please.
