Red Army Take Over Baker Street Pubs!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The globe is a shit tourist pub. If you wanna go and breath in smog from marlybone road, give it large to ongoing traffic, and wait all day for a beer and be surrounded by out of towners, then it's the place for you. The North Star on finchley road a much better option. Is always packed with gooners on a wembley day and one stop on the tube for those with a weak bladder.....

Going for a Charlie Nicholas with tatties and red wine gravy 8) It's delicious.

Paul the owner is a genuinely lovely bloke as well. Recomend it to anyone who hasn't been. :barscarf:

Popped in here last night to watch the Arsenal match ... heavens we walked out after finishing our pints. Rude staff - the manager ignored us when we asked a question ... his manners have not improved since we were last in here 5 years ago.

Glass was dirty, tv was blaring but the sound was distorted. You'd think the pub would have been rammed for this match but it was only half full - not surprising as the atmosphere was not inviting. Only a handful of not friendly locals - I'm surprised that this pub is still in business - we went moved onto the Railway at West Hampstead which was full to the rafters, friendly bar man, great atmosphere - I will never go back into the North Star again ....

This was the last review on beerintheevening, you see although the finchley road is closer to wembley you walk out of the station and theres nothing there. Baker Street is a much better option, if you dont like the globe theres loads of other pubs in the area such as the volunteer if you are into your ales. As for the smog, tell me somewhere in London where the air is clean!

I told you - its the home of Chavski and middle aged West Ham fans before an Ing-er-lund game. 100% wanker count
