Wouldn't want van gaal at all - replacing one arrogant c*nt with another arrogant c*nt is not the way to go imo

Klopp is gettable imo and if not him then I would opt for laudrup cos simeone wont leave ath Madrid anytime soon :(

any chance you're watching these games Arsene ?
Steve Bruce and Jose Mourinho both made two changes at half-time, and they have both seen their sides take the lead. That's what they get paid for.

He's just looking for a last pay day.
I really couldnt care what age he is. I would take a cold, dead Sir Bobby Robson as our next manager and pay him a kings ransom if it meant Wenger was out.
No manager at all and Bouldy taking charge would be an improvement short term imo.

Are we not fucking tired on dynasty building already? Let's get someone who can instantly correct the horrible abuses that has eaten the club alive for years. Let's get someone who can put the basics and foundations of the club back on right track immediately and who can get people doing right things, let it be one or two year project and if Van Gaal is the right man to do it, so shall it be then.

I still think that Guardiola is coming our way but not until couple of years at least. Wenker out now and somebody very experienced, winning manager to replace him, two years project to renew our way of working in the club and most of all, getting us back on winning again.
Dynasty was probably the wrong term to use but I stand by wanting a manager who has a long-term vision and commitment.

As much as we are all sick of hearing about us planning long-term with no results - and all know what needs to be done - it's naive to think that it's anything less than a massive job for whoever comes in. I'm not saying we can't compete the season after Wenger leaves but realistically we're not going to be where we should for 2 or 3 years even if the new manager does well. Is an egotistical manager with a reputation like van Gaal going to come in and spend 2 or 3 years turning things round and then pissing off and handing the reins to somebody to pick up his glory? Not imo, I think he would be tempted to cut corners.

Been reading the comments today and most seem to be along the lines of "Wenger has had his day" and "Wenger the end is nigh"

I think everyone is forgetting that if Wenger fancies continuing then he will.
An FA Cup win gives him a mandate to continue amongst the AKBs and the media. Supporters of all the top clubs will also be delighted for him to continue.

It is depressing but I don't reckon that he is going anywhere.

I still feel 80% certain he's going at the end of the season, whatever happens now until the end of the season.

Replacement... Van Gaal is going to spuds, apparently its a done deal. Perhaps we could get him if we finish in the CL this season but if us and scum are both playing europa league there will be no incentive for him to snub them over us.

Klopp, I don't know enough about to say whether I think he'd be a good candidate but Martinez in my opinion would be brilliant! great manager! but I don't think he'll leave everton for a few years. :(

Steve Bould it will end up being 8)

Saturday was sheer desperation from Wenger. I can't remember the last time we went 4-4-2 for a substantial period and imoreover had we not started just tossing the ball into the box we wouldn't have scored. Maybe some dormant area of his brain has realised that changing tactics can herald results?

Nope, it was apparently a show of "mental strength". Ahh. :rubchin:

80% certain he's leaving? Ahahaha. Pah. We'll get fourth, win the F.A. Cup, title challenge collapse and thrashings will be blamed on injuries, Kroenke will laud him, and he'll sign the contract. End of.

I understand what you mean and agree with you most part of it. I just think that maybe it would be best to have very experienced manager coming in for a shorter project to fix the most urgent issues and errors. Van Gaal MIGHT be that kind of manager who gets the basics right quickly (training, mental side, tactics, player transfers etc.). He certainly has experience on shorter projects but is he ultimately the right man for us? I really don't know but I would take him right away if Wenker fucks off.

EDIT: Oh, forgot to add that I agree with you that we will need long term vision and rebuilding, but first the priority has to be to get the issues related directly to the team and our game right and fixed.

Wenger is fighting apparently.

"There was a lot at stake for us," he said.

"You know how it is today in football - had we gone out of course we would have been tremendously questioned and I knew it was a turning point of our season"

Didn't he know that he is already questioned. The turning point has passed ages ago by not strengthening the squad etc.

"To go out on Saturday would have been very difficult, but we have shown resilience and nerves, and that is an important quality at the top level."

"It means a lot for the club, and I want to win. I am not standing on the touchline and just expecting a result, I am fighting for the results," said the 64-year-old, who has yet to sign the offer of a new contract extension.

"I want to win every single game, when you go to the FA Cup final, you want to win it."

This is so funny. He is apparently fighting :D All we have seen is him sitting on his ass and doing nothing when the shit storm really struck us in the hands of Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton

Is this the most idiotic statement of all time?
