Gooner Wembley mash-up special guests a rugby league team

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We were shit, we were lucky, and fuck it I'm delighted to be in the FA Cup final. Any Gooner that is not happy to be in the FA Cup final isn't a true Gooner or a proper football fan. Not talking about how we got there or the embarrassing OTT celebrations by the players, just talking about us actually being there. When did it become unhip or uncool to be happy to reach a final? Seriously, fuck off.

Again a twist in what people (and I for one) are saying DB10 - nobody is saying that we are not happy to be in a cup final so you can stop with the "isnt a true Gooner" comments. This thread isnt about the cup final......this thread is about the wigan game ONLY and in the wigan game we were absolute fcuking garbage and those highly paid international footballers that were shameful throughout, then behaved afterwards as if they won the world cup  If the cup meant so much to them then where was that showing in the previous 120 minutes ? Playing bad I can accept (although not constantly as seems to be the case) but where was the passion, where was the drive and where was the guts ? We didnt play like a team that desperately wanted to be in the cup final so maybe the after match performance was contradictory to what we actually seen.

Again I will say to you, that when the cup final comes around there will be a thread on it where we will all wax lyrical about the prospect of winning a trophy again and it will excite us all. In the meantime we will analyse a match to which this thread is actually about
Hang on. You don't determine what people can or cannot comment about on threads. The very essence of this forum has always been that threads grow organically. So I will make any comment I feel like making on any thread I want to. Also a bit rich coming from you, when you shoe-horn your Wenger hatred into many threads not about Wenger. I don't believe anyone has asked you to stop that, have they?

TBH anyone that is not happy about reaching the final seems to me to be getting caught up in the whole "Hey look how much more negative I am than you" thing. And I really don't give a fuck if anyone doesn't like that comment. It is possible to still want to win things and want Wenger gone, just as it is possible to be unhappy about many aspects of the club and players and yet be happy about a result, these things are not mutually exclusive.

That is crap and you know it - you are taking what some are saying about Saturdays game and translating into something about another game entirely. Nobody said that threads cant grow organically but at the same time don't try and take comments about Saturdays game and take them out of context about a game that is coming in a few weeks time and one that we were not referring to, just so as you can have a pop at what your perceive to be too much negativity.

By the way while we are on the subject of shoe horning don't label me as a non Gooner just because I am embarrassed about the performances of our overpaid and over-protected shower of c*nts - I have served my time as a Gooner as much as anyone on here and am entitled to air my opinion without having my allegiance questioned by you. It is possible to be happy to be in the cup final and at the same time be embarrassed by what I perceive to be OTT reactions from the players.....these things are not mutually exclusive you know 8)

Surely the "overreaction" was as much relief as wallowing in the glorious performance. :rubchin:

think this is all a tad over the top myself, Someone will be suggesting next that the fans should have walked out all glum as well.

Credit to the team at least for doing what Citeh couldnt, AND for winning 7 of the last 8 penalty shoot outs- thats a track record to be proud of at least. (Uhho, another virtual trophy looms large :banghead: )

Firstly, when you get over your persecution complex, point out exactly, exactly mind, where I named you in any of what I wrote about people not being proper Gooners. What makes you assume I was refering to you in that comment? Secondly, I will post any comment I want on any thread, no matter if it fits in with your new-found let's keep the threads tidy bullshit. Thirdly, how fucking arrogant are you to tell me something I wrote is crap and I should "know it" because you don't agree? And the fucking irony of you telling me you are entitled to your opinion yet telling me what I can and can't comment on?

Saturday was pretty grim for most of the time ; for the 20/25 minutes we were behind the atmosphere was pure poison in the stands.

However, as I normally prefer to focus on the positives, credit to the players who took their spot kicks well, and for Fabianski for saving 2 out of 4 in the shootout - I'm sure they would all be labelled 'bottle jobs' if we had lost the shoot out, so credit where it is due.

Conveniently forgetting about the poor quality of the previous 120 minutes that left us in that situation, of course!

Jesus DB10 you are being sanctimonious today aren't you ?

Firstly I NEVER said that you cant post whatever comment you want and nor did I suggest keeping the threads "neat and tidy" and read back my comments again and you will see that.
Secondly it was you, not me, that decided to play judge and jury over other peoples comments ? You suggested that anybody who is focusing on the negatives of Saturday instead of focusing on the joy of a cup final, ISN'T A TRUE Gooner - I was one of those who was making negative comments about Saturday so it follows on surely that I am included (not solely me) in that grouping. Now I have never objected to people pulling my opinions apart but I don't react well to the suggestion that I am not a true Gooner and that is the ONLY part of your post that I felt was out of order but according to you that makes me arrogant ?? You slate some for remarking on the OTT celebrations but then you get prissy because somebody tells you that you posted crap ? If being told that I have made crap remarks on here offended me like that, then I would have been out of here a long long time ago

RE the red bit, that is not what I wrote. READ what I wrote; "Any Gooner that is not happy to be in the FA Cup final isn't a true Gooner or a proper football fan". Never mentioned anything about people focussing on the negatives on Saturday. ONLY those not happy at reaching the final. As I said it is not mutually exclusive to be unhappy with our performance and happy to be in a final. This is getting repetative and boring now. This will be my last comment on this as it is now ruining the thread. If you want to continue, PM me.
