This is exactly what I was thinking earlier on. It'd be well worth us dropping to seventh for one season to get rid of Wenger and start afresh. Short-term pain for long-term gain. Sadly many of our fans can't see the wood through the trees and insist that coming fourth is the most important thing to achieve. Actually, I'd rather be seventh for a couple of seasons and then have a strong rebuilding process, setting us up for some legitimate title challenges in future years. Have some fucking ambition. Treading water in fourth every year is only delaying the inevitable.donaldo wrote:Spot on.They have have a poor season with a manager out of his depth. But they have addressed that by getting rid of Moyes. While we will still be left with Clueless Wenger.Van Gaal is a great manager who will bring in quality. And dont kid yourself that if Utd and us go for a player that player will join Utd. CL or not.Wenger is on a 20 year plan.LDB wrote:I never understand the point of making predictions like this when things change so quickly. How many people were backing Liverpool for the title 12 months ago? Personally I think they could fall away a bit again next season when they have something other than the league to focus on, surely they can't go another season with barely having a single injury to one of their forward players.OneBardGooner wrote:it is going to be another 3 - 5 seasons before they challenge (seriously) for the title - That is going to be between chavscum, man$hitty and the whinging victims -
There is no reason why manure cannot make the same turnaround, if they get rid of the right deadwood, sort out the dressing room and get the rub of the green they can be straight back up there. And the club should be expecting it of whoever comes in, Moyes was always onto a bit of a loser when the club was talking about accepting a post-fergie slump etc etc, talk about giving the players an excuse from the outset...
Football now seems to be full of people talking about "5 year plans" and "visions" and "philosophies", utter horse imo. Buy good players, manage them well and get a bit lucky.

Think you will find Phil Jones is at the moment playing for a club close enough to mid-table.northbank123 wrote:I would be delighted if they appointed Giggs. My favourite comment as Giggs walked out of the tunnel...."he just looks like a manager doesn't he?"
Err, is that because he's wearing a suit instead of a football kit? Hope and prey he gets the job but increasingly sounding like Van Gaal is a done deal
I saw some comments from Phil Jones today about Moyes defending the players and being extremely patronising towards Moyes, calling him a "nice guy" and stuff but making it clear they had no professional respect for him. He clearly lost the support of the dressing room and had to go but who the fuck is Phil Jones to think he's too good for the manager? Fucking donkey will be plying his trade at a mid-table club soon enough.
If playing for Giggs inspires players and puts the smile back on the player's faces then it says more about the players than Giggs' predecessor. Moyes , poor choice but totally fucked over by a poor squad..as you say who the fuck do they think they are ?

Absolutely agree 100% - a big lumbering oaf like phil jones has no place even talking to the media much less talking as if he is representing their squad

It seems as if Fergie's comments of "he could be Utd's greatest ever player" has gone to Jones' head. Tubby bastard would be lucky to get a game at FC United.

nice to see Ancelotti and Pep rule out any chance - Klopp was cagey though - "no offer received"
Pep wants two more years at Bayern. Ancelotti is "very happy at Real"
so its down to Klopp and Van Gaal. but Van Gaal can't start until July.

I have continually stated in the last few months, that I believe that klopp is def gettable for any big club that wants him - you can visibly see his frustration/despair at the reality of being unable to keep his best players from joining their only domestic rival. If I was usmanov or some other ambitious owner of AFC, then I would break the bank to bring in a top manager like klopp - in todays market players command massive transfer fee's and massive wages so why shouldn't a big club with ambitions be willing to pay big money for the most important employee at any club ? We know all too well, that good players still need to be put into good systems and need to be inspired by their manager or else the whole thing falls apart
Re: Let's All Laugh At Man Utd!
Klopp is going nowhere until 2018.

Moyes , poor choice but totally fucked over by a poor squad..quote]
Pretty much the same squad that won the previous year......I think Moyes was atrocious and never rated him at Everton. The improvement in Everton and the fall from grace for United proves he's rubbish. I wouldn't be surprised to see a dramatic United resurgence next season regardless of the new manager (unless it's Wenger). Moyes was clearly one of very few mistakes Ferguson made.

Still laughing, but the conspiracy theorist might suggest neither Manure or the Spuds want 6th and then have to play another 50 games in the Thursday Night Challenge! Personally, I'd love to see Manure get it, as I think it would harm them more.

Re: Let's All Laugh At Man Utd!
sad to see united lose at home, it showed that giggs couldnt inspire them either.
i was hoping he would get the job - so obviously out of his depth, as his comments after the loss yesterday showed "the team has real quality, i don't understand why the form is so poor..."
duh.

Well, I'm still laughing here!!
The "Giggs-factor" didn't last long, huh?
But then you can only wish failure and syphilis on the type of feral inbred that would fuck his own brother's wife.

Re: Let's All Laugh At Man Utd!
United beat Newcastle and Aston Villa in the weeks before Moyes was sacked. On both occasions they scored four goals, so why was scoring four against a poor Norwich enough to convince media and fans alike that Giggs was some sort of second coming.?
agree but the point I was making is as bad as Moyes is he got little from his players in particular the senior ones.

radio says 10,000 empty seats tonight for the send off of Rio,Vidic, Giggs and Evra.
loyal fans
Fairplay to Giggs, he dropped Rio and Evra from the squad in favour of two kids. one who's just scored twice.
2-1 up v Hull with no Rooney and RvP....
