good piece. i just read that.

if we start badly or slowly i think the press will show no mercy with Wenger next year.

likewise if we lose the FA Cup Final.

i just don't understand how any board member or owner can be reassured about Wenger's future after the 6-3,5-1, 6-0 and 3-0 losses.

i can only think they know he won't spend the cash pile.

the only thing that can save us now is a start next august like Moyes had at united - chavs, liverpool and city away.
A good piece, however, where are these sort of pieces during the year?

The problem is the renewals. I know that Arsenal are a big part of our lives, but until people stop going - it is always going to be the same. I am packing it in this year. No more cash from me until Wenger goes.

It is supply and demand, unfortunately. The demand is there and there is still a significant amount of people who see Wenger as some sort of King or Deity, so they are going to pay up as well. I really fail to see Arsenal as value for the money anymore. We haven't played good football for a number of years now and I am bored.
read some of the comments underneath, the afcforver, 12 yr old (be it mental or physical age) sheep still are out in force, 'i think we've made progress, dont need a striker, sanogo, bendtner did well, 17 othr clubs would love to be in arsenals position, blah blah blah.

17 other clubs, f off. we are arsenal. we dont care about the attitudes of 17 other clubs, we care about the attitudes of the big boys.

fuck of wenger and take your ardtard supporters with u

That mentality irks me more than anything: we should be content with 4th because the clubs below us covet that spot.

That's tantamount to saying Sunderland should be content with finishing 17th because all the clubs not in the PL would be satisfied just being in the league.

how is this for a stat - if we beat Norwich City on Sunday then this will be the 5th most successful season (points wise) that Wenger will have achieved during his time at the club

only in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2008 has he done better.
(the Premier League is clearly getting easier despite SKY claiming otherwise)

Opta stats on SSN earlier on reveal who has spent most time at the top of the league this season:

1. Arsenal (128 days)

2. Chelsea (64 days)

3. Liverpool (59 days)

4. Man City (10 days)

5. Man Utd (2 days)

Because the title race has been contested between three clubs for the best part of the last two months, it's easy to forget just how mammoth our collapse was (the fact that it was so inevitable removed any potential shock value left).

To be at the top for 128 days, only to then be fighting it out with Everton for fourth, is truly an embarrassment.

I look forward to Wenger sitting on his arse in Brazil while our rivals sign any quality available only to be told on August 31st that Geoffrey Fuck-Pants, our £2m superstar signing from Slavia Prague, is "Super Quality" and "there was no value in the market".

Ches KNOWS :
'It is good to sign off with a win in front of our fans, but with two games to go we had nothing to play for and I think we shouldn't really be in that position - we should be fighting for the title, so that is disappointing,' said Szczesny.

'I never considered fourth place before the start of the season as a successful season and a good position - I play for Arsenal because I want to win the title every year.

'Obviously at some point, when you lose games and you lose the chance to fight for the title, then the new challenge is to secure the Champions League spot and that was the aim this season, but I wouldn't have taken it before the season.'
i'm glad to see that the fucking losers mentality that wonga has hasn't infected every player yet.

I'd love to see one of our regulars speak out and say that we need to buy three quality players before the WC.

I doubt Wenger would take much notice. I am sure both Arteta and Wilshere have given interviews in the recent past stating we needed to add quality. Unfortunately as we all know he marches to the beat of his own drum and nobody will make him change.

The sad and fundamental reality is that players either come round to his way of thinking or they leave.

It's really that simple.
