Cup final tickets

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The fucking point is that it starts somewhere and if 60000 people didn't buy tickets they'd be forced to listen. The ST waiting list has already fallen dramatically and the desperation to replace club level ST holders last year was obvious. Someone needs to take the lead. It will take time but eventually more people will see sense. There are far more empty seats now than when the bowl opened 8 years ago
Its not a lack of determination, its a fact. Something you cannot change unless you live in a utopian world. The reality is that 90% of gooners will only give up season tickets primarily for financial reasons (I know a lot that have). The season ticket waiting list was bloated due to pent up demand from Highbury and the relative success of the team on the pitch, thats what happens with most football clubs when they go from winning things to not winning things.

Your political analogy makes me laugh, I have taken up my right to vote since I was 18. Quite what relevance that has to the discussion unless you are a communist is beyond me (which I am anything but).

Someone at Arsenal has been number crunching, and they still think that they can get away with a 3% increase in season tickets even with lower take up and a dwindling waiting list.

You blow soo much hot air on here sometimes, that if you actually channelled that into a significant protest against the hierarchy rather than a pip squeak "I am not giving the club my money" we might actually see better protests ala Newcastle yesterday. I would be happy to join something that has more conviction than bashing a keyboard from home.
52000 Geordies with banners saying 'Cockney mafia out' and walking out on 69 minutes having already all bought a replica shirt, a match ticket, programme, food and drink at the last home game of the season !

Fuck me I bet Ashley is quaking in his boots.

With all my hot air, and you pissing on the chips of those protesting today, I take it you have all the answers my friend.....so please, we're all ears. I had mine, but its obviously utopian and ineffective so we're waiting for your word....
I love it how you go on the defensive as soon as someone questions your opinions, is Putin a hero of yours ;).

If you read my responses to your rants you would see I am happy to join in protests that will actually make an impact. Did you see the look on Pardews face yesterday, he had to take it in the neck big time. As for Ashley you get the impression he could squirm out of anything, he is after all very rich for a reason.

I'm getting ready now, going out for a few beers pre match and starting to plan for the big day in a few weeks time. You on the other hand can enjoy your Sunday, contributing to the wenger out thread, what a sad life!
The Alan Hansen of the forum.....a professional commentator sitting on the sidelines saying "if he did that", "he shouldn't have done that"

Nice side swerve sunshine - so in a nutshell, you have no leadership skills to add to the debate. I'll get back to my sad life and doff my cap to one of life's true leaders - Busted Flush Gooner, the man with lots to say about nothing

Do you know how to play a busted flush? The best players in the world can win without made hands you know? Even a modestly decent poker player could own your soul because of the bull you come out with.

Theres no swerve by me, I am chilled what a shame you aren't. Why do I have to be the "leader" when it doesn't bother me either way, yet I can see its a futile waste of time trying some of the protests and going on about it in the manner that you do. It isn't me with lots to say, you come out with the same drivel ad naseum to infinity. Stevos existence is like groundhog day just like our transfer policy.

Today was a good day; a few beers and food followed by a casually laid back match. Perhaps a farewell to Bacary, who knows. But no bitterness, seems like a lot of that exists in your life.

Back on topic, I am resigned to not getting a ticket and I have to admit to being tempted with Syrupy Stan and Ivan's Cup final shindig at the Grove.

I am a little worried about it being f**king stale atmosphere and seriously f**ked off that the pubs around Highbury have sold out their tkts for the day and have no intention of standing outside 12pins from 10am just to get in. Start drinking at that time and I'll need to read a paper the next morning to find out the match went.

Any one know if any of the pubs are still selling tickets and show of hands, who is going to Grove for the final :rubchin:

I watched a live screening of a game once and once only (at Highbury) It was Spurs away and when we equalised, I jumped up, and was asked by the people behind to sit down

I really cant imagine the atmosphere in the emirates being all that good, the upper tier will be empty and I doubt that you'll be allowed to take beers into your seat. Do you really want to pay £4 plus for a pint of piss?

There are several pubs along upper street that are good for big sports events. Not sure if the walkabout is still there but after an arsenal game a few years back we watched the rugby world cup. I cant imagine any of these pubs getting rammed before 2pm as most gooners will be in the holloway road/finsbury park area. There is also a pub called the junction on highbury corner, they have a big screen and do a good lunch. Realistically if you haven't found your spot by 1-2pm it will be hard work imo. You could also watch it in town at places like the globe baker street, but it would be a wasted journey if we don't take the pub like we did before the semi.

i ended up in a pub on Upper Street for the 2006 CL final because I had left it a bit late, so wanting to avoid that same mistake this time around. I see that the Rocket already appears to be sold out which is a bit annoying.

I dont remember quite the same problems as this for the 2011 Carling Cup final.

I reckon the atmosphere at the stadium will be OK....not a bad option by default, especially if you're bringing kids.

I noticed Red Action said they may look for a second venue once the Rocket sold out, but I don't know how likely that is now.

Does anyone know when the tickets are being sent out, please?

In 2011 we had a lot more fans in the stadium remember.

The club state that you should receive your tickets by Thursday before the game. Which leaves you one day to sort it out with them if you've not received them...

i don't see them selling beer - if we lose, they have to deal with 25,000 pissed up angry Gooners. Food and drink is code for Prawn Sandwiches and Perrier water.

btw the bloke who leases my ST got 2 out of 6 in his group. he's not going either. Arsenal are a bunch of :censored:

And the reason for this is groups that had only one successful applicant are generally not taking up the offer of one ticket, which is understandable.
